I have a question about this, although I'm sure I know the answer...

When you play a game like say mario kart advance on the thing, you can only play single player right. Just wishful thinking that you could play 2 based upon the number of gamecube controllers plugged in.

Like Outlaw said, the GBA player turns your GC into ONE GBA unit. If you want to play multiplayer GBA games, you still need to use the link cable(s) to hook up additional GBAs. Only the first person playing the GC unit can use a Gamecube controller, the other player(s) still need to play from the GBAs.

Another sign that Nintendo is going the way of Sega!

I bought one and used it exactly once.
Kinda defeats the purpose of a portable.

Very true. It's really only worth buying for those of us that got a GBA to play great 2D games, rather than for the portable aspect. I hardly ever played my GBA outside of the house, so the player is ideal for me. But for someone that bought a GBA to game on the go, it's pretty pointless.

Hmmm... I never thought about that. Can I use the GC connector on my GBA and my player to play two people like two GBAs hooked together?

Yes.

If you want to go really crazy, get five Gamecubes, hook four of them up to the fifth using GBA players and link cables, and use that setup to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

 That's the way to go...

Slightly off topic, but is there somewhere that I can look up whether a GBA multiplayer game requires one or multiple carts in order to play?
