Gamecube help

My brother said our gamecube is no longer working, so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas.

He said that right after you push the on button, the disc spins up but then there's a high-pitched beep and the disc keeps spinning and nothing comes up on the screen.

Any help here?

Nintendo has great support I hear - if you send it in, they'll fix or replace it - I think for free.

Yup, I can testify to that. Call Nintendo, they will point you to an authorized repair center. Drop it off and more than likely they will do what they did to me, send you a refurbished one within a few days.

That happened to me Summer of '02, and that same refurb unit is still working today. No complaints.

I had a problem where my GameCube wouldn't boot, and it turned out to be a bad controller extension cable. 3rd party crap.

You could try removing all controllers / memory cards and see if the same thing happens.

Otherwise, Nintendo has great service...
