Any good source for japanese scripts of games?
Futher to my other thread, I will be receiving my japanese playstation 2 next week and would like to get some games that you cannot find in North America. What I am wondering, since the extent of my japanese is watching anime, is where (if possible) can I find scripts for games that are not released over here.
Is there such a thing as video game fansub'ing groups? Better yet, do some games have both lanquages or is it usually all japanese? time to get a book to learn japanese in 21 days :p |
sometimes gamefaqs has a few, otherwise google and pray heh

Google'ed a bit, found nothing. I'll take a peek on Gamefaq and see what I can find.... its too bad, there are so many neatto titles we'll never see.

Which game are you looking for?
|
Looking for rpg scripts and anime game, nothing in particular, just for ones that are not found in North America and probably won't be coming over. I don't an actual list, just looking for titles that we won't get.

Ah, well in the good old days when I used to import my titles for the Saturn, there were websites dedicated to the complete translation of specific games. For example, Tokimeki Memorial was one, and there was a great site (http://endtears.net/tokimemo/) which had pictures and translations of pretty much everything there was to know about that game.
Remember the old IGN site for the Sega Saturn? I think it was after they purchased Saturnworld (another one for the old-school gamers) they published a guide of necessary Japanese terms and phrases for gamers. The guide was great, and I even have it printed out. Hmmm... I still might even have the HTML pages saved somewhere. Anyway, it would separate the terms based on the genre of the game - RPGs, shooters, etc., along with some general Japanese - listing both the kanji (for understanding on-screen text) and the romanized spelling (for understanding spoken dialog). Not that it would help you by mentioning the above, but like I said I might have those guides saved somewhere. If I can dig them up, I'll let you know. RPGs and games are a little more complex nowadays, so hopefully it's not yet obsolete. Jeremy |
That Saturn site sounds (err.....sounded) pretty cool. Its a shame that a resource like that isnt around anymore.
And to read that its not around anymore on the day i get my first Japanese Saturn game :( |
Japanese Saturn games = Greatness.

I just checked my backup files - sorry, no soft copy of the Japanese guides, only a hardcopy. Good luck though.
