Surprise hit! Pacman VS.

We recently had a chance to try this sucker out and it completely took all of us by surprise, this game is awesome. Playing 4 player rocks, and wavebirds = God for this game due to the controller switching aspect.

The best part about this game is that its ridiculously easy to play so anyone can play, even people who don't normally play games. Everyone knows Pacman. And everyone knows how to play it or can learn in 3 seconds. But the twist they put on the game makes it a ton of fun. It doesn't top Mario Kart for multiplayer IMO, but as free game its surprisingly good, any game that gets us yelling and screaming is a keeper. I got my disc for free without preordering or anything, but I would not be disappointed had I paid for it due to how much we've been playing it :). We also found that it is also another game thats great to play while drinking . Get this disc by whatever means possible.

Yes I got this disk free at GameStop as well. It is a very fun multiplayer game! I'm hoping Namco/Nintendo decide to make a sequel with even more options/levels/etc. Maybe a 'Ms. Pac-Man Vs.'!

porieux 12-31-03 06:44 PM

I agree, it is excellent! Much better than I expected. I recommend it to everyone.

It is great-and free. With Wavebirds is absolutley the way to play. I can't wait for Zelda: Four Swords/Tetra's Trackers. The mind of Miyamoto is a wonderful thing. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is going to be nice too, I just wish the GBA Wireless adapt. came out before.

So where is this available? Gamestop only?

Its free with the Players Choice Pac Man World 2 (19.99), I-Ninja, or R Racing Revolution on GameCube. It can be found at just about any store. The cheapest way to get it is with the Pac Man World 2 disc unless Gamestop is still giving the disc away free by itself.

Its a hit with my family and the multiplayer game we play the most. Much more fun than Mario Party or any other games we have played.

I would love a Ms Pac Man vs. sequel.

I played this, too. It's a must for any Pac-Man fan :D

I got it with Pacman World 2. Vs. is a great multiplayer game, and PW2 is a pretty good single player game. Highly Recommended...especially for only $15-20.

This is the first game that has managed to get my friends off of their Mario Party addiction.

It's listed at Gamestop as "I-Ninja Promo", so some Gamestops will ONLY give it with I-Ninja (like the one near my job). Other Gamestops will give them away with any purchase. I asked for one when picking up Time Crisis III.

Mazje 01-02-04 02:45 PM

I don't have a Gamestop near me. Anyone want to pick me up a free copy and mail it to me? I"ll pay shipping. Email is [email protected]. Thanks.

I stopped by gamestop today and took a look at Pacman World 2/Pacman Vs. The package had the instructions in it and looking through it I noticed that it says you need a GBA and the cable to play Pacman Vs. I have neither. :( I'll keep it in mind if I ever get a GBA though.

Yes Pac-Man Vs. is a multiplayer only game, that requires one GBA and GC/GBA link cable to play.

hahn 01-03-04 03:23 PM

Eh? I'm confused. Why would you NEED to have a GBA and link cable to play?

The person who is Pac-Man plays on the Gameboy Advance and is able to see the whole screen. The people who are the ghosts, they play with GC controllers, and only see part of the screen on the TV.

Gallant Pig 01-03-04 03:43 PM

What part of the screen do the ghosts see?

All three ghosts are on the TV screen and you can just see the area right around them. The ghosts can also eat the fruit and their area of view will widen temporarily. What makes the game great is as ghosts you have to work together to find Pac-Mac. Nothing like turning that corner and having him run into you or thinking you have him just as he runs over a power pellet.

Honestly, the game works because of the Game Boy connectibility. If everyone could see the whole screen area it just wouldn't work.

CreatureX 01-03-04 05:18 PM

This is what the ghost player(s) see on the TV screen:

Thats what I love about this game. You have to actually talk to the people sitting next to you to play this game. You have to use teamwork. Otherwise you're gonna suck. Its something that you see in too few games recently, and its this kind of interaction that makes it a great multiplayer game.

After we finished a couple of rounds one of my friends was said "This is a pretty neat idea, its fun!" I was really surprised because she never ever plays games :). Thats why I can't wait for Zelda: Four Swords Plus and Final Fantasy: CC.

ugh. read this thread last week and picked up the PMW2/PMVS package at gamestop this weekend... now i gotta go buy a GBA SP and link cable. :)

bang4dabuc 01-05-04 12:35 PM

If you reserve FF Crystal Chronicles at Gamestop (and maybe EB too), you get a free link cable.

Snowlarbear 01-05-04 03:34 PM

how does one get this again? do you have to buy pac2?

Mazje 01-05-04 03:53 PM

And again, may I beg someone near a Gamestop to pick up a free copy for me? I'll gladly pay shipping AND be your best friend. Thanks.

Just go pickup Pac-Man World 2 for $20 ($15 at Best Buy). These are being given out with pre-orders or purchases of other games so they aren't exactly 100% free.

Mazje 01-05-04 04:10 PM

I see. I thought that there were some Gamestops just giving them away. Oh well, if someone gets one they don't want, let me know.

PixyJunket 01-05-04 04:12 PM

You might also try www.ebay.com if you don't want Pac-Man World 2 (cause it sucks).. somebody is bound to have gotten it with some new game and not wanted it.
