Zelda fans check this out!!
I just came across this site, this dude is working on a 2D remake of Ocarina of Time for the PC. Called Ocarina of Time 2D. In the style of A Link to the Past for SNES. Here is the link:

I've seen that before.. it does look awesome but I have mixed feelings about it. Ocarina of Time broke ground that no other 3D game had broke at the point of it's release.. I think it'll be hard to reporduce the game in a 2D manner faithfully.
Now, I'd love to see Nintendo re-do OoT with Wind Waker's style of graphics and animation. Of course, it'd have to use a darker palette to keep faithful to the style of OoT (see Dragon Quarter for a good example of "darker" cel shaded graphics).

I agree with the creator of this program. Although I love all of the 3D Zelda's, I still think that the series lost some of it's magic when they went away from 2D. This looks awsome!

Cool, Zelda died for me once it hit the N64. Some games just need to stay 2D (see also Worms)....Wind Waker was decent, but too easy and boring...I have no ambition to play it ever again. The SNES Zelda, however, keeps me wanting to go back and play it.

Ocarina of Time is an fantastic game. I can't see how moving it to 2D would make it better, somehow. This is from someone who grew up with an NES (and previous systems as well).

There are dozens of these kinds of homebrew games out there, I really like those kinds of games. This one looks promising, I thought I remember reading a few months ago that he was going to have a demo out before christmas but it looks like he's still working on it. Anyway its free to I'll wait patiently .

OoT is my favorite of the series. It just sweeps you in and doesn't let go. Well at least after you get your sword and shield anyway.
I remember someone posting that another guy was doing something similar to Kings Quest. I'll have to go look for that post.

Although It was an excellent game I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that it was basically Link TTP all over again.
I really enjoyed the freshness of Majora's Mask.
