Lords of Everquest and War of the Ring
Anybody have or play these RTS games? I'm thinking about picking them up but would like some reviews on them first. I appreciate any and all help.
|
Played both the demo's, thought they both sucked. Lords of Everquest just seemed like a really bad Warcraft 3 clone, which happened to be in the Everquest universe. War of the Ring was just a generic medieval RTS that happened to be based on Tolkien's books.

I've heard real bad things about lords of everquest and not so great things about war of the ring. Haven't actually played them though but would be real hesitant to purchase anything from SOE after SWG. If you are interested in these games I would reccomend Warcraft III and the Frozen Throne expansion if you have yet to play them.

Is War Of The Ring really that bad or is it bad in that "it's nothing more than a Warcraft III clone" sort of way?
|
BattleRealms is more like it.

Yeah, War of the Ring is not a Warcraft 3 clone..it is just a very watered down sub-par RTS. I would wait on EA's Battle For Middle earth if you want a Lord of the Rings RTS.

Originally posted by darqleo Cool, thanks. Hopefully this one is a better game. |
I have lords of everquest.
It feels like I'm playing Warcraft III with different characters/story. I'm having some fun with it, as I like most games of this type. :) |

I downloaded the War of the Rings demo today and I have to agree, it sucks. Battles for Middle Earth, however, looks really nice.
