HOLY CRAP! FIGHT CLUB the video game!

they had better not mess this one up...

Ever wanted to kick the crap out of your fellow man FIGHT CLUB style? Wanted to follow in the tradition of Tyler Durden but wasn't quite sure you wanted to get your teeth knocked out or your head shaved? No worries. Now the underground sensation known as FIGHT CLUB is coming to your video game system. Developer Genuine Games ("Knockout Kings") and publisher Vivendi Universal have teamed up for this street-fighting game (duh) that will feature Tyler, Jake and presumably more characters from the film (which haven't officially been announced yet) for xBox and Playstation 2. Here's what V/U had to say about the film in an official release: "In the underground world of Fight Club, the fight isn't over until someone goes limp, taps out, or is beaten. Immerse yourself in this gritty, visceral world of bare-knuckle fighting, with action, story elements and environments true to the Fight Club movie. The extreme realism of the game will make you feel every punch and kick by delivering shocking visuals, untraditional moves, and special effects in fully interactive environments." Certainly sound pretty cool. Info is pretty scant as far as characters, environment, etc. goes but expect more info in the coming months. A late-2004 release date (and a Mature rating) is expected. Now remember the first rule of Fight Club and don't tell anybody.

go here if the picture doesn't show

Looks like a second-rate button masher with the "Fight Club" license tacked on. Still, it may be worth a look.

My job showed this to us the other day as one of the upcoming titles for next year. Pretty blah if you ask me. My thought was, "WTF? a Fight Club fighting game?" Unless there's more than just fighting I can't even imagine renting this.

For a movie that was so anti consumerism / commercialism. This is a real smart move.

I hope it's as good as Enter the Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I love the movie Fight Club, but that picture looks horrible. I have a feeling they are going to piss all over a good license rather than take the time to produce a decent game.

and as stated earlier with the whole anti consumerism / commercialism of the movie it is kind of funny that they are cashing in on it with a crappy game.

This game looks worse than Bruce Lee on the Xbox but I'll remain open minded until I hear some impressions (even though I'm not hopeful)

I'd be shocked if this ends up even mediocre.

"I am Jack's broken heart."

This game doesn't deserve to exsist. Its going to be UFC with a new skin.

"Fight club wasn't about winning or losing."

What baffles me the most is that.. Fight Club wasn't even about fighting.

Jesus. Why do they do this to good movies?

Can't wait for the sequel now. Shameless bastards.

I would only buy this if I can go around in the various environments.

I bet the people that are making this haven't even seen the film. Because if they have, they would realize hand-to-hand fighting wasn't what it was about. Sure it was about fighting (consumerism, society, etc)., but not like that.

AND HIS NAME WAS NOT "JACK"!

Well at least we can recreate our favorite scenes from the movie. The scene where Ed Norton delivers a mid-air sidekick to Brad Pitt was my favorite part!
