PS2 game: Campfire
I have never heard of this game concept until now. It will most likely turn out bad but the concept is great.
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/457/457617p1.html November 03, 2003 - Quietly announced a few months back with almost no fanfare, Daydream Software's Campfire: Become Your Nightmare is slowly but surely picking up some industry buzz. Billed as a "reverse" survival horror game, Campfire allows its players to assume the role of four different serial killers as they terrorize a cabin full of counselors on a dark and stormy night. Useable weapons for this task include machetes, axes, chainsaws, and knives. While little is known about the game other than the identity of the four main characters (Vincent Voucher, Mac Douglas, Louis Winterstorm, and Mannie the Clown are their names), the concept definitely intrigues us; and you can expect us to return with additional info and media as we approach its planned 2004 release date. In the meantime, click on the media page below to view a collection of concept art and the official teaser supplied by the Swedish team at Daydream. We'll see you soon with more. -- Jeremy Dunham Cheesy trailer with live actors |
You're right...this is a great concept!
I can imagine this being a fun multiplayer game concept on PC also - not sure about the PS2 for multi though... This is certainly one to keep an eye on though, thanks :D There's a little information at the developers official site, http://www.daydream.se/ , but I've never even heard of their previous efforts...

nice...
sounds very interesting. i hope it turns out well because its a thoughtful twist on the whole 'survival horror' concept. if its successful you can bet it will cause a stir with those groups who think videogames are a bad influence on the youth of america... |
conceptually it kinda sounds like they got the idea from Ghostmaster... I love quirky ps2 titles though, so this is one I'll keep my eye on.
