I've never gotten the fascination over colors of system.

Do people actually by additional consoles just to get another color?

Are their people out their that didn't by the PS2 because it was black and will by one of these?

Just always confused me. I can understand controllers as systems only come with one so most will by additonal ones and having different colors helps keep them sorted out (i.e black is player one, blue player 2 etc. etc.).

The only systems I bought more then 1 of because of the colors was a Dreamcast (black) and a Cube (platinum)....And this is only because those are two of the best systems ever made.

Okay it cant just be me here, but wont the white PS2 show dust/dirt like a mofo?

To each his own. Everyone will have different tastes and opinions. Besides, this is in Japan, so there's not much for you to worry about. No doubt some people will spend extra dough to import these.

There's that one site that will make your ps2 any color you want and people seem to use it. I think it's nice to have options, and different colors is a cool option. I'd pretty much always go with black though when given a choice.

Expect to see the gold one making an appearance on the next episode of "MTV Cribs".

I'd say colors don't matter that much to me but the release of the Platinum GC is what finally caused me to have to have one. I liked the system before that but I knew Nintendo loved doing different colors so I figured I'd wait. I did and it payed off.

although, i wouldn't get another box just for the color, giving color choices is a good thing, imo.

i got the ebon gameboy and gamecube - wish the front plate on the gc was black instead of that lame grey.

Oh I agree. I was more getting at that I wouldn't think it would be worth the expense for the companies to manufacture new colors as I think most people that want a system are interested in the games rather than the color of the console. Not that there was anything wrong with the few that care about console color.

I think that after a few years sometimes (or alot of times in a certain systems case) the machines start to break down.. or you just need a new one for whatever reason. I picked up the new model NES and SNES when they went down in price because my then current machines were battle worn.

..of course, then there's the late crowd. I'll end up with a PS2 eventually, it'd be nice to have one that looked different than everyone elses. I'd love that Mustang yellow one they have on the site, but they charge $320 for it. That's retarded.
