The date I read on some sites was 10/24/03. I can't wait for this game! I've been waiting for this game since last year when I bought NBA 2k3. I'm a sega sports junkie!

Its kinda funny ESPN comes out way after NBA Live so it can be more up to date on its rosters and its released today and all ready its out dated,Boston and Dallas just had a hugh deal a few days ago,5 man trade, luckily you can update online(I hope),but from what I heard its going to be better then Live.

You sure about that? It always comes out after NBA Live. Even when it was only on the Dreamcast. It's just the way Sega likes to release the game.

Also, the ESPN/NBA 2k series has always been better than NBA Live. It's finally now that people realize EA Sports has been majorly slacking off.

Oh this games better than Live. Trust me on that! As for UPDATING Rosters, can you do it when you play someone ONLINE? So like Antoine Walker can be on Mavericks and stuff?

PLMK...anyone know if Mutombo is on the Knicks by the way.

I am a big Nets/Knicks fan and it would suck to play with either of those 2 teams with a non updated roster.

According to a few posts in a Houston Rockets boards, the rosters are about the same as Live's, but I hear there is already a roster update, dont know the exact details on the updates, the Rockets now have Jim Jackson and the trade with Rice was in effect. I HIGHLY doubt the roster included the Boston trade since that was a mere 2 days ago, but their should be a new roster update by the start of the season. Last year, they had over 3-4 roster updates throughout the whole year, so this wont be the last.

Probably not. Because then I think that both of you would have to have the same entire roster, down to every last change. If they found a way for you to do that, it'd be sweet, but I am 99% sure you won't be able to. You can update them for yourself, and your franchise though, as usual.

I know many of you guys are waiting on the Toys R Us sale to pick this game up so there hasn't been much talk about it. I picked it up today (don't need 3 games right now) and I swear this game is like crack. I literally was glued to my tv for like 5 hours straight. 24/7 is awesome and this is the best basketball game I have ever played. I'll post more impressions tomorrow as I'm pretty tired right now.

I picked it up yesterday also. Free throwing is really hard, unless I am doing it wrong

Also I wish you didn't have to mash the button down to pass. I haven't played it enough to give it a good enough review.

Is there RETRO Jerseys in the game? Classic Teams? Jordan?

I have heard that Jordan is in the game, you have to play for a certain amount hours and he is unlocked in the 80's and 90's teams. Not sure if the 80's and 90's are teams from that era (like 96 Bulls, 88 Lakers, etc) or just the whole 90's All-Stars thing. I don't know if retro/throwback unis are in the game. I hope so

I think I remember hearing they'd be in the game.

I just found out that retro unis can be unlocked. I am not sure if some of the more recent ones are selectable before you play a game though. You might be able to select the recent old ones, but have to unlock the rarer ones, like in ESPN Hockey.

you're doing it wrong. i really like the free throws in this game. the previous games made it too easy. now its just challenging enough and with the second player able to vibrate the first player's controller during free throws, it should make for some intense games with friends.

Retro jerseys are definitely in the game. Actually its retro uniforms as you get the shorts as well.

Oh and MAKE SURE YOUR XBOX CLOCK IS SET! Mine was set wrong (years and months) and after I built up my player and set the clock correctly, I lost a bunch of hard-earned skills as the game believed that I hadn't played in a year and a half (it wasn't an obscene amount though). That's a pretty ingenious way to keep us playing. Another cool thing is that I can look at the schedule of upcoming games on the courts (different times of the day have different games) and create personal alerts for them.

Ok, I am just a little pissed. I don't think you can change unis for games, at least if you can, I haven't figured it out yet. Also, I have a major glitch or bug. I try and load my 24/7 player, and the game sits at the loading screen...and sits...and sits....after ten minutes went by without it loading, I turned it off, and tried again, same result. I decided to make a new 24/7 player. Same result. Anyone else having this problem? I have to make a trip to Toys R Us tomorrow to get my credit back for the buy 2 get 1 deal, so I guess I'll take this game back, and exchange it for one that works right.

Fixed the problem, all is well. I have a few gripes, though. Too many blocks (22 first game for me, 18 the second), too many charging calls, and the announcing sucks. I am sure the blocks and chraging calls will go down once I jack with the sliders, though, so not really a big deal.

As far as the unis, I think you have to unlock them to select them. I know you can select teams alternate and regular home and away unis before quick games, so that is cool.

Go to practice mode for the free throws. It really helps!

Thanks for the informative post...

I did, I haven't made 1 shot.
There is no training mode, there is no mention in the manual.
I hit the button when the ball is directly in the center crosshairs, and the ball either goes left or right, but never in the basket.
