Who's getting Top Spin?
 

I hear this is poised to overturn Virtua Tennis as the best Tennis Game Ever. It's for XBOX Live (the new XSN (XBOX Sports Network)).

I plan to get this along with XBOX Music Mixer and either THUG or Midnight Madness 3 at the Toys R' Us Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale later this month.

The videos and screenshots look AMAZING.

I don't know when...but this is a title I will definitely buy. I've been waiting for a good tennis game and I've only read good reviews.

And also, if anyone is going to buy it, there's that $10 off coupon from Best Buy also.

oops... i signed up at www.leaguegaming.com - they're pretty hardcore about xbox live sport games like football, hockey, etc (i didn't sign up for those). but i signed up for the links and topspin leagues.

I'm getting it my girlfriend and I were unbeatable in doubles matches in virtua tennis.

I'll probably pick it up later down the line. With WWE Smackdown 5, Rainbow Six, and XIII all coming out on the SAME DAY...I don't have much time left for Top Spin.

Any word if Andy Roddick will be one of the players in the game? I thought I read at one time that he wasn't, but I couldn't be sure of it.

I'm just reading about this now, and if it plays like Virtua Tennis, I will have to pick this up and rehook up my Xbox Live.

When does this game come out? And will it be ONLY for Xbox Live, or will I be able to play it solo?

It'll have a single player game and a "carreer path", but certainly XBL and specifically XSN are going to be the major draws on this title.

It's supposed to come out Oct 28.

No. I doubt I'll pick up Top Spin, unless it gets fantastic reviews (which, BTW, no first-party Microsoft Sports game has, as of yet). There are way too many other games I want more.
Outlaw V-ball isn't that bad, but I really haven't had much chance to play it yet. MM3 is a pretty fun Live game, but nothing special as a single person one.

Etc Etc Etc. Google "Top Spin Preview" for more previews like these. In fact I haven't see a bad preview so far.

Keyword: Previews. Until you see a positive review you have to take all that with a grain of salt.

Magazine and website personnel posting on messageboards are saying nothing but great things about it.

They're not afraid to announce the signs of mediocrity, or worse, on those forums, so the previews look to need no salt, in this case.

Well, previews don't count. I could post great preview quotes from Enter The Matrix or NFL Gameday 2004, if you like.

It might be a great game, but even so I doubt I'd pick it up unless it's cheap.

Heh I told them Midnight instead of Midtown Madness and she told me it was not in the system. I was going to call but with the TRUs B2G1F it'd be $2-3 more for a new copy ($40 plus one more at $40, $80 for 3 games).

Yeah, Midnight Madness 3 sounds like the porn version of the game. I think in this one, you try to drive across East L.A. while getting your woofer blown.
