question for madden 2004 online

i have a ps2, i have a SOCOM headset. so how do i talk to the other players, is there a special button i press or something

Nope. Just plug your headset in. When the game starts (assuming both players have their headset plugged in), you'll see a microphone icon in the lower right corner, next to the word 'online'. Just talk, no need to press a button.

it can be "disabled" by pushing R3 i beleive, but it is enabled by default, so plug it in, power up the PS2 and make sure the other person has a headset or else you won't hear anything

I played a game last night against someone who did not have a headset. If your headset is plugged in but you don't see the microphone icon, they don't have a headset. At that point, it's time to plug in the keyboard.
