How do you find time for all your games?

I have an Xbox and Gamecube, and I just noticed that it's a very hard choice to choose which game to play and what system to play. Granted, I don't have nearly as many games as some people on this board (12 for Xbox, 5 for Gamecube) but I find myself looking at them and thinking "What do I play first, what do I finish first?"

Currently my situation breaks down like this:

I am near the end of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
I am about 75% through Metroid Prime.
I am a couple of months into Animal Crossing.
I am playing a franchise in Madden 2004.
I am halfway through the legend mode of NBA Street 2.
I haven't even tried out Mech Assault yet.
I haven't tried Shenmue 2.
I haven't tried Hitman 2, but I played it on the PC so I know what it is like somewhat.
I am just getting into Halo.
I have played ESPN Football once, and so far it looks like it'll steal a lot of my free time.
Same with ESPN Hockey, except that has been played a few more times.
I haven't tried Splinter Cell, but have played the PS2 version so I know what it is like.
I haven't really gotten into Ghost Recon, but I have played it on the PC, so again, I know what it is like.
I play Unreal Championship alot online with my friend.
I am just getting into Simpsons Hit and Run.
I am about halfway through Simpsons Road Rage.
I am near the end of Knights of the Old Republic.

So should I stick with one game? Or play them all in spurts? Do you guys get confused with all the different story lines that are going on in games? Do you like to stay with one game until you finish it and then move on or what?

I typically play the big adventure type games like Zelda and Metroid one at a time, mainly because they require your thoughts to be fresh to know where you are, what you've got and what you need to get.. and if you're actually into plots in video games, it's better not to keep crossing them, again usually just keeping where you are fresh. Stuff like Mario Golf, F-Zero, and Unreal I play anytime.. there's no story to follow, and you don't have to spend a lot of time on it if you don't want to, plus they're great anytime to play with friends.

I don't.

Like you I have a decent backlog.

Currently in progress:

Soul Calibur 2
Madden 2004
KOTOR (need to start dark side quest)
Jak and Daxter
Rygar
Mark of Kri
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
LOTR:TTT (GBA)
GT3
Yoshi's Island (SNES)
and probably some I'm forgetting

I really don't have the time to justify having all three systems.

Next-gen I'm going to wait until after the first price drop (will be busy cactching up on this gen's games anyway) and only by one system. In addition to saving $, waiting will allow me to see which system has the most appealing game library.

I don't have many friends. I don't go out on weekdays. I almost never go out on weekends. I've never had a girlfriend. I'm 26 & single. I have a job that doesn't usually require more than 40 hrs a week.

That's how I find time for games. But sadly enuf, I still have a huge backlog of games, and I find myself wanting more time to play.

I don't know.. I always seem to have time for games. I work full time, hang out with friends on a regular basis, have a girlfriend (almost 2 it seems at times).. I think the only thing that would kill my time to goof off is if/when I go back school, as I won't be able to drop the full time job thing (at least now). I've told myself when I go back it's 100% focus, but I have a weak willpower when it comes to things like a new Zelda game. Argh.

I have very little time to play games nowadays. When I do, it is between the following:

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Star Wars: KOTOR
Soul Calibur 2-XBox
Return to Castle Wolfenstein-XBox
Unreal Championship
Metroid Fusion

Between my job and my family I don't have much time to play games on my PS2, XBox, or GBA. Plus, I have a gigantic backlog of dvd's that I'm also trying to get through. I usually have 2 hours a day with which to do something like play games or watch movies/tv and as a result a lot of stuff of mine usually goes unplayed/unwatched.

My only time to play is when my wife and kids go to bed. I get roughly 2-3 hours each night so with my limited time I try and focus on completing one game at a time but it doesn't always work out that way. Currently I'm playing:

Knights of the Old Republic - about 3/4 through
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - has prevented me from finishing KOTOR
Dark Age of Camelot - only when I feel like RVR'ing
ESPN Football 2K4 - on the weekends so I can get myself psyched for Sunday

Wow, glad I'm not the only one. My list was around 15 games at the start of the summer, but I took the time off from school to beat most of them. Now with college starting again, and me working 2 jobs, I can only play games for maybe 2 days a week.

Now with the holiday season starting, there is like 2-3 "must buy's" coming out a week for me. I might be forced to wait on some of them until the 1st quarter of 2004, where the new games slow down a bit.

My current list to beat:

Indiana Jones XB
Star Wars: KOTOR (and I want to complete Light & Dark side!) XB
ESPN Hockey 2k4 XB
Shenmue 2 XB
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis PS2
Parasite Eve PS
Starsky & Hutch XB
The Simpsons: Hit & Run XB
Soldier of Fortune 2 XB

I don't , it got to the point where I felt stupid for having so many games I don't play, so off to ebay the majority went. Leaving me with stuff I could see myself acting playing within two months.

no time. Lucky if I get in 3 hours a week. 12 GC games and only 3/4 through 2 of them. The other 10 are sealed. 10 X-box games and I have played through 2 missions of Halo and that is it.

I wish I could collect unemployment for about a month.

I calculated that if played through all my unplayed games, it would take me close to 3 years to finish them all, 8 hours a day 7 days a week. I still manage my time fairly well, although the glory days of 12-hour gaming sessions are gone.

I have absolutely no time to play any videogames anymore - yet I have a PS2, X-box, GameCube, GameBoy SP, Dreamcast, SNES and a whole bunch of games for each... go figure.

I was out of work for a couple of months in '99. In that time I finished MGS, Ape Escape, THPS, FF VII, Half Life, and played a ton of Roller Coaster Tycoon. So it wasn't like I was being unproductive. (You also might notice when I registered for this board)
I never want to go through that again, but it was a gamer's paradise.

I don't.. I generally seem to get maybe 3 hrs in on a sunday, and 1-2 hrs at some stage during the week. Fitting in work (all too frequent O/T), modest social life, gym, dvds (which get higher priority than games ), plus a bit of gaming on the side is tough.
However when I get really hooked on an rpg or similar engrossing game then I suddenly magically manage to find about 15 hrs in the week to play, funny that .

If you enjoy your FPSs I'd definitely prioritise some Halo playtime, particularly coop with a friend if someone else wants to play. Very enjoyable.

I don't have near enough time. There are so many good games out right now, i own just about every system ever made, and there are still n64 games i would like to go back and beat. I try to have only one adventure/rpg going at a time but its hard.

I just finished the first Buffy, so now I'm playing

ESPN Hockey
ESPN Football
NFL FEVER 04
Midtown Madness
and just decided to finish off Turok Evol , this is a way better game then many gave it credit for.

I'm buying Tiger Woods this week, I'm addicted to sports games online
