Yes, you can use a new subscription code to extend you subscription another 12 months, and yes extending it will allow you to keep the same gamer tag.

Someone else mentioned in another thread that you couldn't keep the same gamer tag. Were they wrong? Has anyone bought a new kit and successfully retained their original gamer tag?
