That is quite a number of games, but I still don't know if it is worth it for an old and outdated system.

Old and outdated.

I can think of many games on the SNES that are better than anything the current systems have to offer.

I agree with you 100%, but they are still and outdated as compared with today's technology. $3,500 seems like a high price to me. (though, honestly, if I did have the $$ to throw away, I think I would bid, as it would rock to have a few more games for my system)

I mean, I even still have my SNES hooked up. I was just getting ready to log off and play it when I saw this thread.

I don't know why people can't make games nowadays like they did back then, but there are some awesome games.

The price is high because the games are out of print and look how many come with thier box and manuals!! Horrible companies like Gamestop have reduced the number of boxes and manuals for older games significantly. Plus, at the current price you're looking at $6 a game..

My SNES is hooked up too, S-Video.. I played a "speed run" of Super Metroid this weekend and it's still every bit as good as it was 9 years ago.

Yeah.. the box is big because it came with a free strategy guide and scrath and sniff stickers. I love that game.. I really hope Nintendo brings out the Mother 1+2 cart for GBA over here (Mother 2 = Earthbound).

It comes out to about $7 per game - throw in the fact that there are a lot of rare and high-demand games in there (along with box and instructions), it doesn't seem like too big a rip-off.

this is a video store going out of business, i'd be wililing to bet. there are some goodies there, but the entire collection is not worth $8,000 clams collectively. That's an average of $14 a game (if you use the buy it now price). You can go to any game store and get most of those titles for less than $10 except for some of the rare RPGs.

Let's face it, most of those games aren't really worth much unless you are an obsessed collector that wants every game.

I have a small shelf next to me with complete copies of the games on the SNES that I like enough to own:

Axelay
Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire 2
Castlevania 4
Contra 3
Demon's Crest
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy III
Gradius 3
Lufia 2
Secret of Mana
Starfox
Super Ghouls N' Ghosts
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG
Super Metroid
Super Punchout
TMNT 4

I think there were a couple titles that I would like to track down, but I don't need an SNES collection that needs its room.

Damn, that's a nice collection, but, many of those games are crap, there are only about 30 or so games there that are worth anything IMO.

You win. That store is 10 minutes from here. They're going out of business because they ****ing suck.

They charge ridiculous prices for old stuff ($99 for a Saturn?).

Anyways, they suck.

Did anyone catch in the item description the information from shipping (not in the Shipping and Payment Instructions section):
$350.00 Shipping & Handling fee per Item.
So, that would make shipping ... $350 x 575 = $201,250.00.

He should give it away for free and just charge for shipping.

I don't think he's charging $350 shipping for each SNES game, that would be ridiculous, I think he means all of the games is one auction "Item" and its $350 to ship all of them.

I hear ya brother. I'd love to bid on this lot too - give me a reason to set up a game room However, one cannot retire on old SNES carts

Maybe I'll e-mail him and ask about the reserve
