It saves everything to the memory card. I really enjoyed playing the original again though it is pretty easy to beat.

My girlfriend had a question.. do you get to pick what kind of animal your character is? Or is it just the same character just different for male and female?

jediwicz 09-09-03 11:34 PM

It's just the same character male/female. You do get to determine your facial appearance by answering different questions. There's even a stoned dude.

sdcrym 09-09-03 11:38 PM

Yeah, you and up to three others are the only human people living in an entirely animal town. I believe there's a FAQ on gamefaqs describing how to answer the questions your first time playing to get the desired face and eyes outcome.

"Buh-uh-ud". I've got my Green Series downstairs with K.K. Cruisin' in my jukebox. Well I gotta go pick some weeds...

nickdawgy 09-10-03 04:46 PM

on a completely unrelated and off topic note, I just heard you can unlock the original Metroid on Metroid Prime via the Action Replay. If that is true, very cool.

PixyJunket 09-10-03 04:51 PM

Welcome to 2002. :)

nickdawgy 09-12-03 04:35 AM

lol, hey I am new to the AR scene...I haven't played Metroid in years, so I was stoked....

:D

nickdawgy 09-12-03 04:36 AM

oh and also I was excited because I had thought that I needed the GBA to unlock it, hehe

Outlaw 09-12-03 11:02 AM

Speaking of GBA, if you own Animal Crossing, this is THE game that will get you out the door to get a link cable. It makes great use of it. :)

The E-Reader has a few promotions right nows..
Buy 1 pack of Animal Crossing and get another pack for free (any series)
And NES Series 1 is $3.29 (maybe Series 2 as well?)

PrincessT 09-14-03 09:35 PM

Where are they selling buy 1 get 1 free on AC cards??? I'm dying to finish my sets! I think I need less than 40 cards to complete all 4 sets.

NeonGlow 09-15-03 01:12 AM

KBtoys has the Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal right now.

tanman 09-15-03 01:45 AM

Man I just picked up this game when Target had it for $30 and it really is like crack. So far I've already got the biggest house and nook's is now nookington's.

Is there a list of all the released codes? I tried gamefaqs but didn't see it there.

nickdawgy 09-15-03 05:07 AM

Try codejunkies if you're using an AR. Otherwise, one of the walkthroughs at Gamefaqs has an item list with codes.

DaveNinja 09-15-03 10:52 AM

My wife played this game this weekend after not playing since early spring. there were tons of weeds in every acre and lots of roaches in the house. No one had moved out of town, tho.

PixyJunket 09-15-03 10:59 AM

Roaches? That rules. :)

nickdawgy 09-15-03 03:54 PM

yeah, you squish them, and little "roach angels" go to heaven lol

:D

PixyJunket 09-15-03 03:59 PM

Holy crap.. okay, I'm getting now.

Jeremy517 09-15-03 04:03 PM

Also, the people will comment about how long it has been since they've seen you.

PixyJunket 09-15-03 04:10 PM

I have a question about the trading cards.. I bought a pack and all they are all characters, when you scan them into the e-Reader they talk to you. What do the passwords add to your town when you input them into the actual game?

nickdawgy 09-15-03 04:51 PM

lol, I set my time for the year 2029 just for fun, and one of the townspeople was like "I haven't seen you in 312 days."

:D

The passwords give you certain items, and such. There are codes for certain ones like NES games also. I have found Punch-Out this way. You just go to the store, and tell the store owner the password, and he gives you your "present" right away.

It's a really fun game, although I haven't played it in a couple of weeks (hello roaches, lol). It's hard to play this game when I still haven't finished Zelda, and Metroid Prime, am into playing Madden 2004 and NBA Street 2, and just got an Xbox with 5 games :D

sdcrym 09-15-03 05:15 PM

I've never used any of the e-Reader cards, but from what I've read, there are three ways to use each character card, with different results.

Scan the card
Mail the code to any character in your town
Mail the code to the character on the card.
tanman 09-15-03 11:51 PM

Pixy,

Once you get the game and if you have an E-reader you

1. go to the post office and talk to the e-tm(get ha ha ha)
2. download the card reader program to the e-reader
3. Then swipe the card.
4. go to your mailbox and you will have a nice letter with a gift attached.

If you don't have the e-reader you can mail the code to any character in town.
