My friend just got a job working for Vicious Cycle...
So in the last 5 years he's been with 4 gaming companies (re: an unstable work-force anyway), and now he's headed to Vicious Cycle. His gig in Germany at Crytek (working on Far Cry) didn't pan out and he left a few months ago.
He told me that he's going to be working on new Robotech games and a few other projects.
He's excited and I'm excited for him.
Just an FYI.

cool.
I know a guy that worked for Rainbow Studios before they got bought out. I'm not sure where he went. Before that he worked for Todd McFarlane doing all the layouts for the comic books, calendars and catalogues.

My old roomate & one of my best friends has been working for Stormfront studios the past few years. They are a division of EA & he is one of the main designers. They are most famous for the incredible Two Towers game & are just rapping up Return of the King of which I've played a demo & should have the game sometime within the next 7-10 days.
It is a fun perk havinig a friend work in video games. When I visit him I get to play & test a lot of failed games. Last time he was working on a Punisher game I got to play that will never see the light of day. Plus I can get just about any EA game for free.

It is nice having friends in the biz...
I know I've said this before, but my friend made me a rider in Jeremy McGrath Motorcross for the N64 and I'm a wrestler in Legends of Wrestling II (GC, XBox, PS2) in the Southwest Region.
... it has its perks!

I have friends in the industry as well... I don't get many perks though - one of my friends gives me free games here and there.
