Sega Arcade Gallery. I own this for GBA - it includes:
After Burner OutRun Super Hang On Space Harrier I like it a lot - fond memories of OutRun and Space Harrier at the arcades back in the day. It was released just a few months ago. I bought it as soon as it was released from ebgames.com. But now I can't find it on their site - or anywhere else online. I wonder if it is out of print? |
Now, without cheating, can you name this game? This is the first video game I ever played and have been hooked ever since.

A few comments on classics: The Konami, Sega and Namco carts for the GBA mentioned above are really, really good. (Gyruss plays great on Konami, as do the others.) Avoid the Williams/Midway one, alas--great games, but poor control on the ports so don't even bother. Haven't checked out the Pacman cart.
Also, definitely go for a GBA SP over the regular GBA if you want to play these or any other GBA games. The SP is smaller, has a flip case that protects the screen, a nice Li rechargeable battery, plus (most importantly) a great built-in light so you can play anywhere, anytime. The regular GBA was always a challenge to try to get decent light on the screen, and the aftermarket lights *all* have glare and poor uniformity. (Except the Afterburner, but it's cheaper and safer to just get an SP than to install an AB, and you have a better form factor to boot.) I used to have an arcade Bagman cab. Great game! But, neither I nor any of my friends ever finished all 3 screens. And, lastly, MAME is *LAME*! Sorry, it's not a real arcade experience, just a close approximation in a big cabinet. The timing and control on most games is always off a bit, but it's noticeable and bothersome. And it's no substitute for playing the above classics on a tiny, portable GBA SP. FWIW, I have a Williams multigame cabinet (Joust, Robotron, Defender, Stargate, Bubbles and Splat) and having 5-6 classic challenging games running on original hw beats a computer-in-a-big-cabinet MAME thing any day. Whoops. Just noticed you're a N00B. Nevermind... |
drmoze is right, the Midway collection blows.
As far as Pac-man goes, it's quite good. My only complaint is that things are way too samll when you play in full screen mode, and it's very difficult to play in the scrolling mode unless you have the layout memorized. This game would play better on the GBA player. |
How is SINSTAR on the Midway collection?
Thats the only game i REALLY want on that collection. Is it really THAT bad? Ok that and defender. Is defender suckky?? |
