I'm playing the final US version on a PC emulator. I have FFTA on preorder (and own several other GBA games although I don't own a GBA - I'm not going to throwaway my eyesight by playing a game for 30+ hours on a 2 inch screen).

The start button only brings up stat differences when equipping items, not in the shop. However, this isn't a huge deal because items aren't really better or worse - I pick weapons based on the skills characters gain from them.

I will say that I'm glad the emulator I'm using allows you to run at triple speed by holding a button down - I can't imagine playing this game through all the battles at normal speed. Square should make this a standard option - they allowed you to speed the game up when playing through Chrono Cross a 2nd time.

True but you have to admit FFT is a lot more polished.

Disgaea has a lot of flaws but it's a lot more fun than Tactics.

Hmmm I also don't know what you're getting at with that statement. Don't know about Trigun's financial situation nor do I care to know but he's not lying. You can download the full english version of FFTA over the internet and play it on your PC using a GBA emulator....I don't recommend doing this however, because downloading and playing GBA games on your PC is illegal unless you own the game.
