I think Madden 2004 and the Italian Job are multiconsole. They usually don't review the GCN version of the multiconsole games.

Surprised that Mario Golf wasn't reviewed.

Great month for fighing games.

It looks like Madden is the football game to beat again this year. Why such low scores for ESPN?

There was a special note that said that Nintendo couldn't get a reviewable copy of Mario Golf to them by press time... that seems to be the case with most Gamecube stuff.

Yes, please endulge us. I was interested in trading in my 2K3 for the "2K4" version, but if it isn't worth the upgrade I'll save my money (or look for the NFL Fever 2004 reviews).

So, those numbers are for all three versions of Soul Caliber 2? Seems to me that the the differences are minor between the three games, just go with the version with your favorite controller/special character.

I personally disliked NFL 2K3. It was just too "sim" for my tastes. I prefered 2K and 2K1 to the Madden's of the time, but since 2002, I've preferred Madden.

That's what reviews/impressions of the import said as well. It basically comes down to which bonus character you like best and which controller you prefer.

For me, Link and the Wavebird win hands down.

Strangely, my EGM subscription ran out in June and they never sent me a single renewal notice. Most magazines bombard the hell out of you with them. Hell ESPN sent me some damn thing where I have to write them a letter if i DON'T want to renew.

Guess EGM isn't hard up to keep subscribers. Oh well, I don't have the $ to renew it right now anyway.

I just got the latest issue of PSM yesterday - Madden got a 10 for its franchise mode, and ESPN NFL got a 9. Their review, which were lengthy for both titles, stated ESPN was more sim than Madden, and as such it played at a slower pace. They also said the AI was better in ESPN than Madden.

They also touched on the first-person mode in ESPN and said it was really good, and with a few minor touches would have been great. They also said because ESPN is more sim, the first-person mode is the way to really "get into" the game.

The crib mode was good, but it wasn't even close to the depth in Madden, with the franchise modes and the training camp drills.

My free EGM sub ran out a few months ago and I missed the free deals, I liked getting it. Bummer. Anyone know of any new ones for EGM?

I was getting EGM for free then they switched me to the digital edition. I haven't bothered downloading it though, the print edition barely keeps me interested.

I'm glad that VF4 Evo got a good review. I skipped buying VF4 after I heard that Evo was announced. I hope to pick it up at BB or something.
