Why is Resident Evil 1,0 on GC cheaper than RE 2, RE 3???

I dont understand this. I saw the remake of Resident Evil for 9.99 the other day. And RE 0 is 19.99. But Part 2,3 with no graphic upgrades is 49.99. Can anyone explain this to me? Also will the price be dropping alot soon?

cuz they came out before pt 2 and 3 (in terms of GC releases). Parts 2 and 3 will drop in price when nobody buys them at 50 bucks.

No one is buying them. I've checked the sales there both doing really bad. I dont understand why they arent 10 bucks each. When they were re released on Dreamcast they were 19.99 a peice. I dont understand the price increase.

2 and 3 were actually released at the 39.99 price point, not 49.99. Still is a ridiculous price for a Dreamcast Port, I'm waiting until they go down to 19.99 each before I pick them up.

I don't understand the $39.99 prices either. The Dragonball Z fighting game coming to the Cube is going to be $29.99 and it "includes" enhancements from the PS2 version. Maybe they thought the RE franchise was more popular then it really is currently?

They should have released 2&3 on one disc and priced it at $19.99. I noticed that the GC port of Code: Veronica will also be $39.99. What are they thinking?

I'd gladly pay $50 if they remade Resident Evil 2 like they did the first game.

It's not Capcom's fault. Originally they were planning on releasing all 3 games at a discounted price, $20 or lower, just as they did on the Dreamcast. Howevr, Nintendo's licensing costs forced them to skyrocket the price.

Hope this annoys Capcom enough to make them quit their Nintendo exclusivity across the board.

I'm going to call shenanigans on this unless you post a link. There's been Gamecube games that debuted at $19.99 and $29.99. And there was nothing preventing Capcom from packaging both games together.

I don't think it is the licensing costs. Most of the new Capcom exclusive games like PN03 and Viewtiful Joe are priced at $39.99 instead of the usual $49.99. I don't really know why they did that with RE2 and 3, and frankly, since pretty much everyone has played them I don't really care either .

O I dont either. But it just would look nice on my self having all of the games for 1 system. So if I could pick them up cheap like they should be that would be nice.

Ditto. I believe Nintendo's licensing fees are still higher than Sony's and probably MS's, but there's no way that's why these games are priced that high. Capcom was just being greedy, figuring they could sell a few at a huge mark up, and then drop the price later. Just a way for a company that was near bankrupt a few months ago to squeeze out a few extra bucks.

Hm, can't find the source where i read it because it was so long ago, but it might have just been a figment of my imagination =p

Either way, it sucks.
