I didn't know it came out on PS1- I thought it was a Sega Genesis game.

Platform: PlayStation. Publisher: Electronic Arts.
Developer: Electronic Arts. Players: 1 to 2. Released: 1998

The PC & Genesis versions were released WAY before that (1991).

Also worth noting is that it was ported from the 3D0 Road Rash game, which obviously came out before the PS1 version and is far superior to it. In fact, Road Rash for the 3D0 is still, for my money, the most fun motorcyle game there is. I wish EA would stop churning out yearly revisions of the same tired sports games and bring Road Rash and the Mutant League Sports (Football, Hockey, and never-released Basketball) games to modern consoles. Maybe after Madden 2010...

Road Rash was indeed quite awesome.

JM: you wouldn't say that if you had played Road Rash 3d or Road Rash Jail Break, the last two RR games to come out. Both were quite bad.

Mutant League ruled the streets at night. Sign me up if they come up with an XBox version.

I have the 3DO version that came with the soundtrack on a separate CD. Don't remember what year it came out, but it was a great racing game.

Both Road Rash and Need for Speed were awesome on the 3DO.

I'm partial to Road Rash 2 on the Sega Genesis (never played 3DO). I love everything about the game (especially the music in the hawaii part when you do a really huge jump about halfway through).

The the thing i really disliked about RR PS1 was the overuse of those video clips

EVERY time you select a track you get a clip of people hopping on bikes or something!!

Also no rearview mirrors of being able to input your name.

RR3 on the Genesis came out after the PS1 version...while the graphics are kinda sucky, it did have the "bike upgrades" option and allowed you to keep weapons frombetween races.

I do own, and briefly played, RR3D, and you're right. It is an awful game. IIRC, it didn't start life as a RR game, but it became one to take advantage of the name. Didn't even know about RR Jail Break.

So, I guess I should say that I wish EA would bring old school Road Rash to current consoles.
