I got no time fore games, but talk me into or out of buying an Xbox....

My dvd player in my living room is sucking some arse. Anyway, I am thinking about buying the xbox and putting my nice dvd player in the living room, and putting the xbox in my "man room". That would solve the dvd problem, plus I have several Xbox games with nothing to play them on.

So, should I buy one?

Any super deals???

My XBOX is collecting dust while my PS2 gets the action. The XBOX WILL get some great games going and will pick up speed, but it isn't there yet.

Go with the PS2. I have all three, and I can't believe I left the PS2 for last.

No dice. I have 8 Xbox games and no PS2 games. It is Xbox or nothing.

It's the opposite for me, my PS2 hasn't been used since I got my XBOX. I can't believe I left it for last.

Actually - the Xbox makes a good DVD player and the fact that you already have some Xbox games should be enough motivation for you to go pick one up.

Deb, the PS2 is possibly the best bet for selections since the vast number of games they crank out fluffs up the libary some. But Dave already has games for the xbox so it's pointless to suggest buying a PS2 if the thread is asking to talk him in/out of buying an XBOX.. not other suggestions.

XBOX is a good investment because of the games they have out and the easy to use LIVE ability.

If you have Xbox games already then it is pointless for one to suggest not to pick one up.

as for deals.. The cheapest I've seen them was around 150 used/refurb from EB or you can just spend the extra dough to get a new one for 179.

The best reason I can say.. Vice City will eventually end up on Xbox. (from what I hear) so you get other system's great games and the number one reason:

Dead Or Alive Beach VolleyBall. .. nuff said.

I enjoy my Xbox, although it seems like 90% of the titles that I'm interested in are also on PC, so I end up buying for them instead. The DVD playback is quite good, as is the jukebox feature.

One word:

Duh.

No seriously, I'd buy one. Or sell all your games and buy a GC or PS2.

I already have a GC, and for whatever reason the games on the PS2 don't really entice me.

I was able to pick up an open box X-Box at Best Buy last week with Halo & Amped for $223 Canadian which works out to about $166 US. I was pleased

I could give countless reasons but it would probably be OT.

No, because I'm not. And I never would of thought Groucho played video games.

My friend got a great deal on one from eBay, you could try there, and you might score a couple more games in the process.

You could always install a mod chip to make the DVD Player region free and disable the requirement for a dongle. Then you could turn it into an MP3 server.

I have a handful of Xbox games and I enjoy most of them alot, however, not all of them are Xbox exclusives so you can go with a PS2, either way.... some of the games I have been busy with includes:

Shenmue 2
Splinter Cell (finished it but looking to do it again)
Baldur's Gate: DA
NHL 2K3
Steel Battalion
Toe Jam & Earl 3

Just pull the trigger and get it done...

you'll be pleased.

I only have Halo, Mechassault and Brute Force and I've been happy. I also have a GC and do not have lots of time to play games, so I have no need for the large library of the PS2.

My X-Box gets all the play time. I put my GC away cuz I wasn't using it. It seems like most of the games I want are on the X-Box.

You have no time for games..huh?...well get the Xbox anyway, and use it as an additional DVDplayer!
