Playing diffirent region DVDS in your PS2

I'm thinking about getting something so I can play reg 2 dvds. I would rather get something for the PS2, since that would be cheaper than getting an all region DVD Player. These are two PS2 Peripherals I'm looking at:

1. Action Replay
2. Gameshark 2 Video Game Enhancer, Version 3

Has anyone used any of these? Which one do you guys suggest? I have the old PS2 (from launch date) if that makes a difference.

Why not buy one of the el-cheapo players from Radio Shack that they're raving about in the Hot Deals section? They're $50 and you can convert them to all region. Supposedly they do PAL -> NTSC conversion (which the PS2 does NOT).
