Question about Wal-Mart and Gamecube purchasing
Has anyone bought their gamecube their and got the free game with it? I have been trying various wal-marts in Los Angeles and they all say that they haven't heard of the bundle deal. They keep telling me it is an Internet only deal.

I believe the deal is only good at participating stores, so I guess it's possible some stores in the big chains aren't doing it for whatever reason.
Just try somewhere else. It's going to be $149.99 with your choice of a free game the same 4 game group regardless of where you go. Keep an eye on the best buy ads, they've had a couple of deals where they tossed in another free game (NBA street was one of the deals a few weeks ago). |
Nintendo also announced it would change the deal to give the buyer the option of getting that GBA player (the thing that lets you play GBA games on the GC) instead of a game. If I was going to take adavantage of this deal, I would definitely go for a game though.

I think the Walmart bundle comes with both Zelda and a Gamecube/GBA link cable for the normal price. You used to be able to get another game on top of that, but I'm not so sure now.
Depending on which game you want, if you live in LA, you should either wait for the price drop, or get the Zelda bundle (if you like Zelda) with or without the free game, and then get Metroid Prime at Blockbuster for 20 bucks. |
The cashier has to scan the Gamecube first and then when they scan the game (if it is one of the 4 qualified titles), then the game will ring up as $0.00. Some of them might not understand that.
If that fails bring in the sales ad and show it to them where it specifically says "and choice of one of these 4 titles." If that doesn't work then you can show the sales ad to the manager. Always be polite yet firm at the same time. Hope it works. |
I have tried this but most of the guys at wal-mart have no clue as to what I am talking about.
