DOS Gamers, want to play your old games?
found there's a dos emulator that emulates a 286 to let you play old dos games at their normal speed
I'm planing on using it to play Starflight 1 and 2 http://dosbox.cjb.net/ edit: if a mod comes by, could you please put the correct "your" in the title, I had a brainfart. Thanks |
you are my hero. I have been looking for a 286 emulator to run some old pascal animations I wrote in highschool. They are minutes long and on today's computer's they run in a fraction of a second. I'll give this a try.

I haven't installed it yet but it looks promising. I'm pumped to try it with starflight 2 as I never got very far into it before upgrading my processor

Sweet! X-Com, here I come!

Cool! I was on the Underdog site last night and it has some great stuff I wanted to try out, I'm gonna try this when I get home tonight!
|
cool, I wonder if it works with Lexi-Cross. Great game :)
|
ok, I'm a dork....how do you work this program? I am stumped.
|
the site has a list of tested games, as for how to get it to work, I'll post that after I get around to playing with it

it doesn't appear Lexi-Cross is listed, I hope I can play it, I love that game.
Yeah any help on showing me how to work it would be great :) |
Damn, Sam and Max cd-rom not supported

I got my old p233mmx machine back from my mom when she moved onto her boat, so I think I'll end up using that to play some of my older games.
But I bet even that machine will be too fast for some of those games. I'll have to give this a try. |
did anyone get Crusader: No R to work?
|
well, I only ran it long enough to make sure Starflight 2 would load but this is how I did it, on a P3 500 running win98se
I installed dosbox to D:\dosbox installed starflight 2 (not downloaded, I actually found the box with disk and map) to d:\sf2 opened a dos prompt and typed d: cd dosbox dosbox d:\sf2 this opened dosbox and made d:\sf2 the C: for the emulator then I simply typed the name of the bat file to start starflight didn't have to do any special configuring |
