Best RPG, FPS and TPS for PS2
 

For the most part I've only played sports games, now I'd like to try some other genres out. Which RPGs, FPS & TPS would you recommend I try?

I have tried Metal Gear Solid 2, and didn't like. Too much cinema, not enough action. I know RPGs go cinema crazy, but are there any good ones that don't go overboard with it? I heard some of Xenosaga's last like 45 minutes.

Suikoden 3 was pretty decent for cinema times, I enjoyed that game quite a bit.

For RPG's, your best bets are Final Fantasy X and Dark Cloud 2. Both are very, very good indeed.

For FPS on the PS2, try Timesplitter 2 and Red Faction 1 or 2. They're all fun (but none are close for Halo, of course).

For TPS, the obvious choices are GTA 3 and Vice City, but they have other elements as well. Splinter Cell and Hitman 2 are fun. Hitman 2 is on sale at Target for $27.99 (a very good price) this week.

Oh, and while it's more of a platformer than a true TPS, I recommend Ratchet & Clank to everyone. It's so much fun and perhaps my favorite game on the system.
