No. Sega has stopped porting their sports games to the Gamecube due to poor sales. The Cube isn't good for franchise sports games because of the small memory cards.

On a side note, I remember when we played 3-player games on the N64 and in place of the 4th player screen we'd put the playboy channel using PIP on the TV. It fit in the bottom quarter of the screen perfectly and made it really tough to concentrate on the race sometimes! :D
Dammit I miss college.

We set up two 19-inch TVs side by side so we could watch sports and play games at the same time. Good times.

Are there any Sports games for the Cube? I could care less about Franchise modes. I just play against my friends in ONE ON ONE!!

Sure. EA still plans to publish their line of games (Madden, etc.)

Oh wow! -eek- Here is some direct feed footage from the game:

I can't wait to try those jumps at the end of the footage. They look like so much fun!

Anyone know if there will be a battle mode?

CreatureX 05-14-03 06:23 PM

Nintendo's Mario Kart E3 page confirms battle mode is included. But even better news comes from PlanetGamecube.com impressions from the E3 show floor:

Contrary to early reports of a two-Cube limitation, Mario Kart supports up to eight Cubes with the use of an eight-port hub or switch of some kind. It's unknown at this point if Nintendo plans to offer a hub of their own for multiplayer gaming, but you can get one at any computer store, and for about the price of a game
:D

Played Double Dash today...

AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I wound up playing this 4 or 5 times today with 8 other plays, and walked away with 5 free shirts and a GBA SP case I won. Unfortunly, you couldn't choose your players, they were automaticly selected for you.

Awesome thanks.

Cool! Thanks for updating the link on that video. For some reason all of IGN's video's have this weird high pitched tone. This one was better. Those jumps were crazy. Looks like the courses are larger but the speed of the carts is a little faster as well.

Sounds like you dominated the press in mario kart GizmoDVD :D, wht kind of T-shirts did you get? Just curious :)

Don't know if this link has been posted, but here is IGN's first take on the game.

Woot! Woot! ;) Since most places won't have it until the 18th or 19th, not too bad a guess, huh?
