I cant belive it took me soo long to get a Gamecube!
I just wanted to post how happy I am with my Cube . I had an Xbox for a longtime, but non of the games that came out made me interested. My best friend has a Gamecube with Metroid and got me hooked. I went to EB traded in my Xbox and got a Cube. Oh and one more thing for any one thinking of getting one, get a Wavebird. Man that is just icing on the cake!!!

I have all three systems, and I definitely play the Cube the most. I guess it's the Nintendo-made games that get me. I learned quite some time ago, however, that trading in or selling a system is never a good idea. I sold my Dreamcast once, ended up regretting it and buying another one.

Of the 3 systems, I play on the Gamecube the least. X-Box takes most of my time due to Live, Splinter Cell and PD Orta. Then it's PS2 with GTA:VC, Red Faction 2 and SOCOM online. Gamecube has some good games (Windwaker, Metroid), but it just doesn't occupy my time like the others. Maybe it's the lack of online.

Good for you! My cube is finally plugged in again due to Link.
Haven't touched my PS2 for quite sometime now... only about 1/2 way through Vice City, and haven't picked up Xeno.

I currently spend the most time playing Splinter Cell on my Xbox. I'm sure that will change once I start playing Metroid and Zelda on my cube. I still need to finish Vice City too.

I also have recently purchased a GameCube and was wondering what games (old and new) would you consider must have for the system? I already have metroid prime and mario sunshine and plan on getting Zelda. I heard a lot about Animal Crossing..is that game any good? Is it a low priced game now?

Good purchase on getting a Wavebird to go go along with your Gamecube, best controller eva!
Metroid Prime rocks! . If you get a chance, be sure to chekc out Eternal Darkness (after you finish metroid and zelda that is).

I was thinking of that, I saw a pretty decent price for it used. $25 bucks I think on EB.

I saw Eternal Darkness at a couple of different Best Buys for $20 (new) lately. Thought about getting it, since it is very highly regarded, but then I remembered I don't really like survival horror games.

ED isn't a survival horror game. It's more of an adventure game. You don't have to run from anything. Fighting is encouraged. You always have enough ammo as you almost always have some type of sword, and they are usually much more effective than the guns (with a few exceptions with certain enemies/guns). Even when you want to use a gun, there's usually more than enough ammo.
The only similarity to the RE games is that there's a lot of puzzles, but in ED the puzzles are actually logical, rather than random silly crap like putting things in the eyeballs of statues, putting ants in a music box etc.
