My headset hasn't been working since I installed my router. is there a way to fix this, if not what can I do, should I buy another router?

headsets were having problems with some routers. check the forums on scea.com and you'll find all the info about this.

I too have had no luck getting my headset to work since I set up my router. I also had no luck finding an answer on those boards. 'm glad I don't really play the game much anymore. I'd love to get it working but it's not worth the trouble right now.

Ok
I caved and just fixed the problem and since I know a bit more now I'll try and help. In learning how to fix it I messed up the connection for my PC, XBOX and PS2 but it was a learning experience and now they are all working like they used to.

What kind of modem do you have?

I ended up updating the firmware for my D-Link DI-604. It has a gaming mode that seemed to fix the headset problem. I say look into what router you have and what kinds of fixes the updates have. The process was rough but it did work.

I recently was given a D-Link wireless router (DI-614+) which I have connected via cables to my PC and my PS2. I am not using the wireless connection yet, but will be in the near future so I have WEP enabled with 128-bit encryption.

I tried getting onto Socom II this past weekend but could not use the voice chat feature. It works fine if I run the connection straight from the cable modem to the PS2 network adapter.

I got poking around and looked for some information regarding this issue and came across several bits stating that I had to open several ports or place the PS2 in the DMZ so it has full internet access. I ended up placing the PS2 in the DMZ, but still could not get the voice chat feature to work. I then tried assigning a static IP to the PS2 and logging its MAC address, along with placing it in the DMZ. Unfortunately, that has not worked either.

In addition, I have the gaming mode enabled and have updated to the latest firmware 3.20, but still no dice.
Is anyone using this router and able to connect to Socom II online and use the voice chat feature?
