GTA Glitch City?
 

Is it just me or does anyone else find that Vice City is wrought with glitches? It's frozen on my a couple of times and once it didn't load a mission after a cut scene. I usually don't problems with my PS2 but Vice City seems to be the exception.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with it?

I've had the same problem. It got to the point where I made sure to save the game after every mission.

Yep... I've had soak crashes and clitches where AI won't move when scripted to and load issues.

Ive had the game freeze on me once,I must be lucky because I havnt experienced any of the major glitches,I know this game has alot of glitches just be sure to save alot and you should be allright.

I completed the main storyline missions, delivered 100 taxi passengers, found all 100 hidden packages, and finished all the vigilante missions. The game never crashed or glitched on me once. I guess I'm lucky.

i was behind my mansion and was in the pool i jumped out and hit a piller and i got stuck and could not even kill myself or change my weapon then i had to turn the game off and beat the 4-5 missions i beat it sucked.

Never had any problems with it. My friend complained that his had some glitches though.

Never had a problem or heard of any problems from my friends.

Vice City was full of bugs at release. Part of the problem could be your PS2 though as it seems to expose laser problems earler than other games.

Don't forget that Rockstar is always blaming their glitches and bad programming on cheat codes. If you put in a cheat code our highly stable game might lock up or do strange things. Right. :up:

The only problem I had is that I jumped and ended up stuck in a ramp. No big deal, though. I usually save after every mission anyway and haven't had any other problems.

I've only had it freeze on me once, but I get all of the other problems like clipping and texture thrashing.

I've had it freeze on me several times, I always thought it was due to it being a previously used game from Blockbuster. I'll usually just eject the disc, and re-insert it and the game will unfreeze.

Hmm..... Never had it freeze. There's plenty of clipping in the game and sometimes it'll have collision detection issues but nothing serious. Guess I'm lucky too (and I have one of the earlier PS2 models). It did seem like the game took longer to save and load as I got towards the end of the game.

I found a few object glitches like being able to walk through the back of a set of steps, but nothing major. It never froze my system at all.

thats happened to me. got stuck on a ramp, my car halfway in.

another time i used the spawn tank cheat code to see what happened and i drove it around like crazy after blowing lots of stuff up it just froze.

Yeah I've had maybe 2 glitches total. I don't consider it a big deal though given the complexity of the game.
