PS2 DVD parental lock

My brother bought a used ps2 and the system is asking for a password to play anything besides a G rated movie. How can this be disabled?

have you tried erasing everything on the memory card, including the dvd drivers? maybe that would do it... but make sure u have a copy of the dvd drivers to reinstall afterwards...

Give Sony a call: 1-800-345-7669, they should be able to help you.

While in DVD player mode bring up the Menu that has all the play options. One of the sub-menus here is a setup menu where there should be an option to disable the password for playing DVD's.

Check the PS2 manual for the disable code. I'll refrain from typing it in this thread.

Well since the unit was bought used he didn't get a manual. I found a code on the internet to disable it but it keeps asking for it everytime a DVD is put in.
