Marvel vs. Capcom X-Box not Live
this has been posted around, but I didn't see it in here. Marvel vs. Capcom on X-Box has just lost its Live capabilities. Capcom official announcement:

That drops it from a marginal purchase to something I might fish out of the bargain bin down the road. Oh well.
|
Wow.. not that I was buying it or anything (I hate Dial-a-Combo games).. but they just kissed thier sales goodbye. The people that want this game already have it, considering that you can get the DC version for a cool $10..
Capcom USA, I salute you! |
Thanks for the info. No live equals no purchase for me.
|
Thanks for the new..... u save mehh $40.00
I already have it for DC version...... w/o XBOX Live.... i pass :) |
Not buying it now either, congrats Capcom!
|
In an unrelated news, Capcom also canned Dino Crisis 4's online capability! :D
|
..and annouced Mega Man 12, Mega Man Legends 5, Megaman X 8, Megaman EXE 5, Street Fighter III 5th Foobar, Capcom vs SNK 3, Capcom vs Marvel 6, Capcom vs DC, Capcom vs Di$ney, Resident Evil 100, Resident Evil Gun Stupidity 60, Resident Evil Dinosaurs, Resident Evil Devil May Cry 3, and most shocking of all: RESIDENT EVIL EXTREME BEACH VOLLEYBALL!
|
Well, I wasn't going to buy Capcom vs. Snk 2 because I hate it more than life itself. I was waiting for MvC 2 online, but now I'll have to buy the other game. Thanks a lot, Capcom.

You got some imagination. You forgot: Dino Crisis 4: The Return To Jurassic Park Maximo 2: Onimusha Return Steel Batallion vs. MechAssault Arena |
I would imagen that you need atleast a Buisness T1 line to keep up with the Button mashing that happens in the game. ;)
|
Why delay the game if it wasn't going to be Live  I'll wait for the eventual price drop. Thanks Capcom
|
Looks like im not going to get this game anymore, thanks capcom

Yeah cause playing a fighting game with friends at home is sooooo Hard -rolleyes-
I believe with this whole Live thing a lot of standards have been set. I don't know about you, but whatever happened to the days when you played by yourself (Keyser, go ahead and quote me on that one) You know, you played at home to practice for the arcade or when you played your friends. Having a few of them over and letting the challanges insue. Now it's all about Online features. The same complaint has been filed in the PC world.. Look at UNREAL 2. because it had no Multiplayer platform it was panned. WTF, what ever happened to playing a game for the story or to unlock secrets. it's a button mashing game for christ sakes, I would hate to see the cheese that is done online and how many of you would complain that the other person unplugged their connect when you were cheesing them to death with a Sentiel/Cable/Dr. Doom Ultimate cheese combo. It's still a good game.. if you like button mashing fun. I wont mind no live gameplay. thats life. Deal. :) |

Everybody has owned it for a few years already on a different system. It's like asking for a port of a said game to include even more then what it originally had. Just settle with the fact that you can now play it on the xbox. the reasons as sherbz stated, the rights have been pasted over to someone else. thus no working. :p

guys...LISTEN UP!! don't trip on the online fighting game scene...there is good news! Christophe is working on bringing Kaillera to xbox live! He and mame developers are figuring out ways to assimilate mame and xbox live and are speaking with mod chip developers who supposedly have found a way to get on Live WITH a modded xbox! Stay tuned for more...
Samurai Shodown on a broadband only network....fapfapfap |
JackSkeleton -- that's what almost every port is. The same old game with more. Asking for that isn't that "crazy!" ... It's rare to find ports from older games without extras. And if I remember correctly Mvs.C 2 in Japan is Live.

I can't wait for a good fighting game to be online, like Virtua Fighter or DOA series! :D These Dial a Combo games are pretty weak.
|
Dial a Combo.
I just wanted to say it. Anyone else? |
Well when you look at the game compared to other 2d fighters, this is really a dial a combo.. I mean hell, you can do 5 hit combo's by simple guess work. :p this game is loved because it's major cheese factor.
|
My favorite 2D fighting games were the Street Fighters 2 various editions like Championship edition. The ones were they had good graphics, but not all the different characters (the original characters were awesome).
Having that on XBL would be awesome. |
