Well, now the Gamecube has a veritable host of Game of Month and Gold Awards. It costs $50 less than the Xbox, and yet it is still not blowing away their numbers. Maybe this will be where they pick up their momentum.
Thanks for the update Josh!
By the way, who are the people they put in for Man on the Street?

Too bad Zelda didn't get Platinum, but at least there are a few good games to look forward to.
The Xbox is a complete bewilderment to me. How can the most powerful piece of hardware ever created continue to churn out the worst exclusives of any system?
I really want to read the reviews of Breath of Fire. I was thinking of getting this game, but I want to know why one reviewer gave it a 6.0.

Every single review I read for RE2 and 3 says it costs too much... I really don't understand Capcom for charging 40 bucks.
Maybe they figured they could charge whatever they wanted and people would pay it. I seriously doubt it's selling well though, and with all the backlash one would think that they'd immediately have reduced prices.
whatever...

I imagine that the prices will drop on the RE ports. They really should have included both games in one package for $39.99. That would have sold like hotcakes.

Good to see Zelda getting such good reviews, and to see that all the reviewers (I believe) said that they didn't see how the game could have been done any differently, graphics-wise. I've thought it looked amazing from some of the initial movies. Can't wait to pick it up!

Surprises:
Jeremy
- Kung Fu Chaos got wholeheartedly ripped - this game seems like either you love it or you hate it.
- Murakumo - The one game I was looking forward to got trashed. I would think they would have kept it in Japan if it was supposed to be so bad?
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for the PS2 received such praise. I mean, didn't the XBox version get slammed for it being largely the same game as the PS2 version?
- Rayman 3 - Haven't played it, but thinking how flaweless Rayman 2 was, you would have figured it would have been at least as good.
- Vexx got better marks than Rayman? Say it isn't so...

I think the major beef they had were that the REs were so darn expensive for strait ports. I think if they were 19.99 or 29.99 for both they would have scored higher.
"Let's do a little math: In 1997, RE2 for PS1 sold for $50. In 2000, RE2 for Dreamcast sold for $20. In 2003, RE2for GC retails for $40. Add all these together, divide by the number of years, multiply by five, and the result is: THIS GAME IS A FRICKIN' RIP-OFF."
emphasis theirs, but not in bold as it should have been.
I think RE2 is missing "minor bonuses from other editions, like opened minigames and extra story files"
RE3 I think you have to unlock the mercenaries minigame.

Nope, the X-box version got a great review, either 9.5, 9.5, 9.5 or 9.5, 9.5, 9.0 if I remember correctly.
