Are their cheaper PS2 memory cards??...
 

I am looking into getting a 8mg memory card for the PS2. Is their any place that sells them cheap? They can be generic.


ps-Also, I am thinking of getting Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the PC. But, should I wait for the PS2 version? Will it be better than the PC version? Thanks!

Try half.com or ebay for cheaper cards, usually theyre not that much cheaper though.

Depends on the video card you have on your PC right now wether or not you should it for PC or PS2. If the card you have is kind of old, then I would suggest the PS2 one, but if you have some really expensive Radeon or something, then the PC would probably look best.

A while back, I bought a "Memory Card expander" by Mad Catz for $12 at Wal-Mart. It works just like a memory card, but you have to plug another memory card (Mad Catz or Sony) into it to get it to work. It has it's own 8MB cashe of memory, so I use it to keep old saves on games I only play rarely. It works fine for what it is, but it's a little bulky for everyday use. Some third-party memory cards are not any good, so I'd buy an offically-licensed card if I were you.

KBToys.com has a sale going on and you can get a Sony memory card for $15 or $20.Not much cheaper than the original price,but still a little cheaper.

Speaking from experience, that's what I'd do also. I've had 3rd party cards just quit on me for no apparent reason twice. Sony cards, however are still going stong. My PS1 memory cards still have my original resident evil game saves on them.

Pay the money for the Sony one. Third party cards (especially the ones with "mega" storage that use compression) are notorious for losing game saves.

Nothing sucks more that losing a memory card full of game saves and having to start all over in every game you had saved on it.

I totally agree with Josh Hinkle. Just buy the genuine brand. It's not worth risking the loss of hundreds of hours of gameplay across multiple games, just so you can save 5 or 10 bucks. Not worth it!

Get two memory cards 8 MB for about $30 shipped! New.

Try pawnshops, good ones will sell them for $15. I'm considering getting another PS2 memory card from them. It's 10 off which is pretty good and worth checking out.

Get first party. Get the Interact Mega card once for my PS1 and it kept losing my saves for no reason.
