Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic delayed AGAIN?!?
 

I'm starting to see release dates of around April 1, May 1, and others on ebgames, gamestop, etc... Has this game slipped from it's February 24th release date? I'm really looking forward to this game, but would like to play it before the end of this year...

Technically, since MAY is in SPRING, and since we are aiming for a SPRING release for the XBOX version, there are no "slippages" being implied here.

So let your retailer know. And that's the bottom line, 'cause I said so.

Well that is still a slip from February 24th (if this is true)... I guess Rare should just start announcing what decade they are going to release their games in, that way technically there is no "slippage..."

I thought this game wasn't coming out until the fall?

Maybe I'm thinking of the PC version.

I don't care if they push it back as long as they take their time and do it right (a la Blizzard)...I'm letting myself believe that this will be one of the great ones and will be worth waiting for

I agree, I am usually pretty dissapointed with computer games myself but when Blizzard dose a game I know it is done right. I would like to see this on xbox but not till it is ready.

I rather have them delay it than rushing it out the door with bugs and whatnot.... Bioware is a good company, they don't delay things just because.

Gamespot is now reporting a Fall 2003 release.

For the pc version. The X-box version is still set for may.

BioWare's PC Star Wars RPG slipping to fall


The PC version of Knights of the Old Republic is now scheduled for next fall.

LucasArts' Web site for Knights of the Old Republic now lists the release date for the PC version of the Star Wars role-playing game as "fall 2003." The PC game was previously scheduled for release this summer. According to the Web site, the Xbox version of the game is still on schedule for release this spring.

Gamespot now has April 1 listed as the release date.... Oy, I guess if the delay is actually worth something then I can stomach it. Guess that just means more time with Zelda...

If it's always been a "spring release" without any more official hints, why would anybody have believed retailers' guesses of February in the first place?

Yep, this is an example of retailers creating release dates when there truly has never been an advertised release date by the company making it. Bioware is often very vague in release dates, usually giving it a season release or a quarter release. I would expect this game around May as there are builds currently at major game magazine places (which is why you are seeing all the previews).

I'm waiting for the PC version myself. I'm hoping that it has a toolset with it. The NWN toolset 0WNZ me.

lol, what funny is that most of the games i got to play at e3 last year in the lucasarts booth, haven't come out yet and i will see them again this year.

Summer doesn't begin until June 21.

Guys, besides Knights of the old republic we got Star Wars Galaxies and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy coming to us this summer/fall too too! If ya havent seen any info on JK: JA go here

Only if the games quit getting delayed, and are exceptional games when they're released. Otherwise all these delays are for nothing...

In my readings, LucasArts has said that they believe KOTOR will not see another delay. Take that for what you may.

And as Groucho said, they have until June 21 to fulfill the "Spring" release. KOTOR's main site has said June 2003 for the Xbox version for at least a couple months now...Fall 2003 for the PC version.

Don't expect a June 1 release - that's a Sunday. There will most definitely be a delay.
