Panasonic PT-47WX42 and gaming?
Figured I would post it here as it is gaming related. Was going to purchase this tv but, wanted to ask about gaming on it. My big question is, "Does this tv use the gray or the black bars when playing a game on it?" I guess I could deal with gray, but black would be less obtrusive. Also, is there a "stretch" feature on this tv? If so, how does it look? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have this TV and play my XBOX and PS2 on it. Everything is set 16:9 whether its stretched or not stretched. IMO, XBOX looks awesome, PS2 games good but no where near the XBOX. I can't comment on older consoles.

I have this tv as well, and play my GameCube, and old school Nintendo on it just fine. GameCube looks great, and most games I own support progressive scan, so it's a no-brainer on it fitting correctly. The old Nintendo I play on 16X9 mode too, it looks good, however on some games the game's far left part gets messed up, or is blank(only talking about 1-2 inches on the far left of the screen), if you switch it to 4X3 mode it fits correctly, with gray bars on both sides.
Pick it up, love the tv, and couldn't be happier. |
It's funny that this thread was posted now because I just bought this tv two weeks ago, and played my PS2 on it for the first time tonight.
IMO, the PS2 looked pretty bad. I had it hooked up through the front AV input. It's not the TV, b/c everything else looks good. So if your question is whether you should get the tv or not, go for it. It's an awesome tv. bmello, how do you have your PS2 configured with the TV? I could use some tips to make it look better. |
