Just bought SPLINTER CELL for the Xbox...what can I expect?
I just bought SPLINTER CELL sight unseen. I'm new to the gaming world and just got an Xbox. I've played Madden 2003 and Halo.
What can I expect in this one? |
Oooh it's awesome. Very fun stealth game. Use your mind as much as possible, be creative, always look for different places to go and do, as a last recourse when you get stuck, check an online walkthrough. The graphics rock, the gameplay rocks, even the story is decent.
|
Huh? I can understand if someone asks what to expect from a game before they buy it, but after? You've already bought the game. Just play it and find out. :) The first level is a tutorial, and should give you a decent idea of what the game is like.
|
Yeah, Joshic, I hear ya. I have a problem with impulse buys. :)
I just wish we had an xbox at work. Hate to wait four more hours to play. |
A great game, I just got this as well. And it's pretty tough. I need to learn more stealth rather than killing everyone. And hide the bodies, then shoot out the lights near the bodies.
|
You can expect a tremendous gaming experience from (in my opinion) the best game of 2002. I usually take my time in trying to finish games, but I played this one a couple of hours a night for two weeks straight until I beat it.
Bring on the downloadable levels! |
You can expect to become paranoid and sneaky in real life. Ever since that game came into my life I have started sneak around the house and peep around corners for no reason. My wife is all pissed cause she runs into the table or the couch cause I always have the lights off. And I wont exit a room until the "they saw me music dies down"

And I wont exit a room until the "they saw me music dies down" Hahaha... The game is a lot of fun. I don't think i'm that good at it, i probably kill too many people, but it seems fairly easy (other than a few places that are majorly difficult). I'm really impressed with how the designers placed the save points at the perfect places... lots of designers $%^& that up now-a-days. |
expect gaming bliss (or frustrating gaming hell - depending on your perspective)
|
I'm probably stupid for not buying it because I want to but I just keep NOT buying it.
But the way I look at it as long as I don't buy it I'll always have that first time playing it to look forward to  |
This is by far one of the most enjoyable games I have EVER played. After picking locks in this game, I really have an interest to learn how to do it myself (you'll see what I mean when you play it). Prepare yourself for gaming bliss.

Expect it to be one of the best gaming experiences ever... Too bad the game is kinda short, or is it just that I can't get enough of it??
It is hard, but not unfair. It is a great game. |
Expect the aiming to suck.

imo splinter cell is the best new single player game I have played in the last 5 years. Just my opinion. I havent finished it yet (im back in the embassy) but everything about the game thus far is dead on.

the "aiming" is controlled by the gamer. It requires skill in Splinter Cell, which makes it more realistic. In spite of what happens in rambo movies and some cheesy fps games, u cant just spray a room with half a mag from an uzi and hit 10 different guys in the forehead.
