Metroid Prime: Phazon Mines
 

As many pointed out in the BIG Metroid thread, the Phazon Mines are tough little bastard. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of switching back to the corded controllers so I don't chuck my Wavebird through the window next time Samus bites the dust.

I've had no problem making it through any boss, any long void of save rooms... until now. I've been stuck for a week now.

I keep getting to this floating invisible cannon thing... which I've found you can't shoot. One of the scans said I had to disarm the thing. Do I climb those blue floating platforms? I keep getting knocked off by the blasts from that gun.

Of course by this time, I'm down to two... maybe three energy tanks after being ripped apart by the legions of Space Pirates that have come before.

There isn't any save station nearby is there? Did I miss something on my trek through the mines?

I just got past this part. I used my wave blaster (wave beam with missile combo) to kill the invisible drone, very quick and painless. You should be able to find a save room right after this part

....ahhhh... didn't try that...
