NFL fever or NFL 2k3
 

Which is better. For 19.99 2k3 seems to be the better deal but is it worth it or is there good reason it is 19.99?

I would bet that most people would say 2k3 is the better game. I have Fever and will not pick up another football game till next season. ;)

Why is it worth the extra 20. I played fever 2002 and it was ok.

I have NFL2k3 but have not opened it yet and was wondering if Fever has the same problem on live with people disconnecting or do they count it as a loss if you disconnect. The main reason I bought 2k3 was for the live aspect of it.

Fever has also been priced at 19.99 a couple times in the last couple months. Plus there is a rebate from Microsoft, butmaybe that is only if you were a beta tester...

NFL Fever got a lot lower reviews than Madden or 2K3.

In EGM, Madden and 2K3 got 9's and 9.5's, Fever got in the 7 to 7.5 range.

Consensus seems to be that it's a decent game, but not on par with the big boys yet.

I've played all three and IMO Fever has the best graphics and is the funnest. Madden feels sluggish to me and 2K3 doesn't feel like it has changed at all since 2K1 (maybe even 2K when you come down to it). The original Fever is a lot of fun, I guess like people consider NFL Live to be fun, not super realistic, but fast, furious and looks great.

OH by the way I did pick up 2K3 for Xbox today :)

I'll be picking this one up tonight also. I made my wife stop by circuit city on her way home from work today to pick me up the ad.

Fever is by far the worst.....

GP, you're probably the only person I've heard say they like Fever better than either Madden or NFL2Kx. :D

To be fair, I haven't given either of the Fever games much of a chance, but I never saw the need to as I already have to great football game series to pick from.

Fever just seemed a little too arcadey to me in the couple games I played in 2002, and the few minutes at the EB demo with 2003. I don't get the graphics either. The animation and character models just didn't look right to me. The textures were better and sharper, but the animation and character models just ruined it for me as it made the game look less realistic than the other two IMO.

I loved Fever 2002. The 2003 version has no defense to speak of.....

OK in my defense I never have played 2003. I can't imagine how or why they screwed it up, that's said to hear.

I picked up 2k3. For 20 bucks even if it sucks i should be able to get my money back on ebay.

I prefer 2K3. I just like it more than the others. Fever turns into a bomb match. The last time I played Fever on the hardest setting against my nephew, with 5 min quarters, the score was some like 64-57. I lost, but it was too easy to score and it was also too easy to get sacks. It's like the O-Line has no smarts at all. The one thing I liked about Madden was the training camp. That was cool. 2K3 has a pretty good practice mode as well, but I just like 2K3's gameplay. Not too fast (Fever) and not too slow (Madden). It's a shame more people don't play 2K3. Madden sells more, but IMO, it's not the better game.

really I like them both. It kinda depends on what mood you're in. If I'm looking for a simulation game, I'll go NFL2K3. If I want something a little more upbeat, Fever. Plus you don't have to think as much. Fever is something a new person can pick up and be decent at immediately, while NFL2K3 takes a little more time (just in my experience).
