GTA: Vice City - better on PC or PS2?
Of course I want to get in on this game, but the question is, which platform has a better version? I loved GTA, GTA II and GTA III on the PC.
BTW, PC specs: WinXP, 1.3 GHz, 1024 MB RAM.
Thanks in advance!

I'm waiting for the PC version.
Could have something to do with the fact that I've got an Xbox instead of a PS2.
But if I thought I'd never get to play it otherwise, I'd buy a PS2.

Well, when it does come out, the choice will come down to whether you prefer playing games on a PC or a computer.
I couldn't give a rats ass about higher resolution, as I'd much prefer to play games on my 27" wega and stereo sitting on my couch, than squint at my 17" inch monitor sitting in my leather desk chair.

of course since we also have no idea what video card you have how can we say if it would look better or not
also 1.3 Ghz celeron or overclocked P3 or duron or maybe it is an Athlon...
of course since the PC version does not exist i would say the PS2 version is 100% better

Playing a game like Vice City is way more fun on the couch with some buddies and beers. Nothing like people running around on your 51" TV and screaming in DTS when you're done using the flamethrower.

Huh with that card you actually might have the PS2 version looking better. that is a real slow video card.

same for driving games. i prefer them on the xbox or the ps2 over the PC versions. bigger screen.
to add emoticons, read the faq up above. if you're using the reply message (not the quick reply), you can see the Smilies link towards the bottom of the page. most use the :something: format.

I have a Gateway-built computer, and I was able to swap in a new video card.

let us know the model you have and maybe we can tell you.
By the way nothing to be sorry about. The big advantage of consoles is that you can play games on it without having to upgrade like on the computer to stay current.
The bad thing is that as technology moves forward consoles stay static so PC games will look better graphically.

Anyone else notice that the songs on the radio are in amazingly good quality for 80's tunes. They sound better than some of the 80's CD's I've heard and use the channel seperation really well. I heard they remastered them especially for the game. "Video killed the radio Star" is my favorite.
I agree it's a shame the game isn't multiplayer but it's still pretty fun having people watching and giving you suggestions on what to do next. It's nice that there are unlimited lives and you can build up some "inventory" of stuff by collecting hidden packages. That way when you die you can just go by your local hideout and fill up on armor and a chainsaw etc.
My point is that you can pass the controller around a lot easier on the couch. Especially fun when trying to hit an Insane Jump repeatedly and see who can go the furthest or have the most spectacular crash.
