Outlaw Golf- 9 Holes of Christmas
Does anyone know if the Blockbuster Exclusive X-Box game Outlaw Golf- The 9 Holes of Christmas is any good? It's only $4.99 and comes with a rent one-get one free coupon in the box so I might just make a blind buy anyway.

I haven't played it yet, but I don't think you need the original version to play it.
The game was up front at the counter where you check out.
It comes with 9 new *Christmas theme* holes and there is a demo of the original game on the disc as well.
Oh, and something called a "full motion video with characters from the game" is included also.

It can be....
You'll probably need the original to add more holes!
Remember Dead or Alive 3 buster pack?
Make sure you guys ask questions before buying it. A game for $4.99? I seriously doubt it!!

it's true... it's a standalone game. 9 holes. i had it preordered, but then the etailer I had it pre-ordered it canceled the order, as it became a BlockBuster exclusive... it is a real full game, 9 holes, 2 characters, Santa's your caddy (which means you can beat his @ss..)
also, 3 holes from the original Outlaw golf... a damn good deal for 5 bucks...

I wonder if this is going to be yet another thing that is only done by corporate owned Blockbuster stores and not the franchises? It's getting pretty old but all the things Blockbuster hypes - like this, or selling games, or renting GBA games, or getting certain games early - they only seem to apply to corporate stores - and all the blockbusters in the MD/VA area I go to are franchise stores and don't participate in it.
Pretty frustrating. Imagine if McDonalds advertised new food and only corporte stores had it..
Local Blockbuster had no idea what I was talkintg about when I asked about the Outlaw Golf demo cd...

Yeah RCL66, that looks like the deal here too, no corporate locations here either. Would someone please like to pick me one of these up? I could pay you via paypal.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Why wouldn't it be a standalone game? That is a great marketing tool. Play nine holes and see if you like it, to get you to buy the full version.

Hey, its a standalone game. I bought it last night. It includes 9 Christmas themed holes, a Demo for the original, and a Rent one get one free coupon.

Only nine holes, limited character choices, but all the clubs are unlocked at the outset. And man, are those 9 holes tough!
There's a 600+ yard Par 4 and a 300-and-change-yard par 5. At first I was confused by this, but that's the way they play.
I was hoping for the ability to load my golfer from the regular Outlaw golf, but oh-well.
Now I want the back nine! Outlaw Golf 2! C'mon!

EDIT: Looks like Trigger beat me to the punch... I'll still get an extra one anyways.

but the question begs... why just nine holes? Why not 18?

For $5, in what is essentially a seasonal demo, I wouldn't expect a full 18-hole course. But I don't think its unreasonable to expect the other 9 holes to show up down the road.
