Star Wars Galaxies!!
 

When I first heard of this game I didn’t think much. I had no interest in playing it. Today I was read a magazine that had a very small article about the game AND WOW! This game sounds amazing! Just the thought of playing this bad boy on XBOX LIVE :jawdrop: !!! XBOX has some fantastic games coming out 2003. It’s going to cost me plenty!

Well do any of you know anything about Star Wars® Galaxies? I want to find a few websites that some detailed articles about it….but I couldn’t find anything much. Maybe you all know something.

Ooh, I know plenty of this game. give me a few minutes..

All I have to say is as much as I want to get into it. I think it will be to much of a commitment for me to get into it. 55 minutes to get all the way from one end of the world to the other... I can imagen my monthly bills go up.

You can't be a sith lord, only a dark jedi and the sith lords of course are vader and the emperor.

I didn't know this game was for xbox live. I just thought it was for PC. Isn't this game also developed by a sony first party?

what I read said it will be for Xbox and PS2.

What about bounty hunter? :lol:

Actually to become a full jedi/dark jedi i belive you have to do a ton of stuff to get to the top so the game wont be unbalanced

What i had read was that there were going to be conditions that would remain secret that would have to be fulfilled before your character could even become force attuned. So based upon how you play and what decisions you make perhaps the mods who will be in the game interacting with players will decide who can be come jedi/sith. Originally (granted this was almost a year ago) they had said there would be 2-3 jedi and 2-3 sith per server tops. Something like 1 in ever couple thousand players would ever be chosen to be a jedi.

omg... you should check out that SW celebration footage!! I spent 3 days there and not once did I see this Galaxies footage/demo.... oops... heh.

They are developing the PC version first and foremost. They have said they have no timeframe yet for consoles, but they plan on bringing it out eventually. They're in Beta 2 right now (testing server stability mainly).

This game could be very dangerous for a lot of people. I so want to get involved but fear the obsessive behavior that might accompany it.....

I really wish this came out before I found that I had to make a living.... 1994 would have been good. I really didn't do much that year. :D

Same here. I mudded a lot in college and had a very high level character on the one i played on. Unfortunately my playtime was also something like 45 days... and that only counts hours when i was sitting in front of the computer and active.... so needless to say i can get obsessive with those kinds of games so out of concern for my health and marriage i now avoid them ;)

Is this like an MMORPG or what..? Can't access game sites from work. :(

I dont see how they can make Galaxies on the PS2/Xbox,first of all the FX are playing on a video card far better then Xbox's Gforce 3 and PS2's engine.

Another thing is Sony might not sell there HD here in the US for fear of not selling well,thats why FF11 Online might not make it to the States because of this reason.

Sony is publishing the game,can you see a Xbox game with Sony on its package?

If it does come out on consoles it will be so dummied down it might not be worth it,think Everquest Adventures for the PS2 a dummied down version of there PC game,reguardless the PC is the only way to play this game,no keyboard for Xbox ether,just something to talk about.

Those videos were shown on a GF3, so there goes that theory. As for a PS2 version, I can see how that might be a challenge. It's perfect for Xbox Live though, but I wouldn't mind if it just was a PC only game.
