my vote goes to nfl 2k3. theres so much control in that game that it's too overwhelming at the start. once you play a season of the lowest difficulty setting you'll love every button on the control pad. the only thing thats a bit screwy is the play calling. its got its +'s though, but it still feels weird. I never played madden 2003 for long periods of time, but I did play 2001 and 2002 a lot.
nfl 2k3 is the best football game I've ever played.
word of advice, it sucks for xbox. only because the controller sucks. one of the moves requires you to hold onto the a button, then press the black and white button at the same time. on the ps2, you hold x and press l1 and r1.
