Xbox LIVE available @ some Target Stores YMMV

Some Target stores are carrying and selling the Live kit before the release date, okayed by MS.

Call first to see if they have it.

from what I have read on IGN, they do work, BUT you will not see all the Beta folks..the retail final servers are seperate from the Beta servers...there are a few people online playing the various games..the most populated game on the final servers is MotoGP

I was able to pick up a Live KIT tonight at Target in Atlanta...people have also found them out at various Best Buys and Walmarts

If you can find one, they work great...played the MotoGP demo, and NFL2K3 online, both were flawless, no problems at all. 2K3 played without a single hiccup, as did MotoGP. Problem is there werent many players on since these kits arent technically out yet.

Called yesterday, some goober said no, don't have em.
Called today, some kid answered said yep, had them for a couple days now.

I hate people that say things that are not even correct.

I went to a BB here in Ft. Worth today and they guy told me that he had them in the back but he could not sell them until the 14th. I said I need it now. He said he had about 30 copies. Not too bad. I hope this does not turn out to be like the PS2 adapter problems. Those things are still hard to find.

Don't think this will be the same deal as the NA for PS2. Not the same level of demand + higher supply level. BB can be a stickler for dates. They were holding GTA:VC until I think Weds. in order to keep in accordance with their flyers.

The last Live kit in my local Wal-Mart made it as far as the register's scanner before my hopes were dashed. 'Sale not allowed' showed up instead of a price, and there was no way to work around or override the system.

Combined with seeing three Targets without kits, it looks like word may have finally got out to every retailer that they're supposed to wait.

One of the local targets had them on the shelf ($49.99) and the other said they didn't have any idea when they would be out. If I wasn't part of the beta I would have grabbed one.

Most people were celebrating when that was announced.

The game I didn't like was Whacked. The characters are funny, but the game is a mess. It's too hard to tell what's going on around you.

MotoGP is great on Live. My only gripe is that it's the only racing game out right now. I would've loved to have a street racing game on Live like PGR or Sega GT, but I guess we have to wait.

Another game I would've liked to have seen on live is Monopoly Party. Being able to play Monopoly, lounging on the couch with a few other people around the country while being able to talk on the headset? That would've been pretty cool and brought in a completely different crowd. Maybe in the next year they will get some turn based games online.

No, its only the demo version. But, if you already have the retail version, your saved levels and riders will be available. So I've heard.
