help buying used PS2
 

I have an Xbox and a GC, and a while ago I was forced to sell my PS2 (which at the time didn't have any new games I wanted) because I absolutely needed money. Well of course, especially with Vice City coming soon, I want a PS2 again, but I just don't have enough money for a brand new one. Places like EB are absolutely worthless as they're like 20-30 bucks less than they are new, which almost defeats the purpose of getting a used one. And Ebay is a little risky, because you usually don't know exactly what you're getting.

Any advice on getting a used PS2? When I first got a PS2, I got it used at Babbages and it was a certain model that has as chance of defecting on you by not playing one type of game (either CD or DVD), and of course, I got a defective PS2. I returned it and got a new one. What model of PS2 should I look out for to avoid defective units like this?

Basically, I'm set on getting a PS2 no matter what sooner or later, and I want to go about this without having to sell my Gamecube. There are a few GC games coming out that I want, but if it's one or the other, I'll have to choose the PS2.

find a seller with good feedback on half or ebay...or buy one from a good trader here on DVD talk...

Seriously, just wait and see if there's going to be a bundle. I say "yes", but be patient.

If you've got an old console system and 10 games, I think you can trade it in to EB for $100 off a new console (or was this for XBox only?)...
