Acclaim announces "BMX XXX" a mature title coming in their line up (site link inside)
I have a friend who works in the inductry and he sent this out today!
Here you go Groucho!

BMX XXX site (over 18 please)

Here's his take on this:

Then, in their attempt to be "edgy" and "mature" the new BMX game is going to be Mature rated, with full frontal nudity, gross-out humor and topless riders. Now, I'm not opposed to this type of stuff in games, frankly I think there should be more. Grand Theft Auto is a great example. My problem with Acclaim's BMX XXX is that it is a kids' game. There is no way around it.
This is a sequel, in a series of BMX games that have always been aimed at kids. And it's a BMX game, which appeals to kids. They're sneaking this stuff into a game that parents won't have any suspicion at all they should have to screen it. In fact, up until just about a month ago, it was called Dave Mirra XXX, just another game in the Dave Mirra series that had always been rated E. (I'll probably play the game to try and get enough money in game to get into Scores and see the strippers, but I would be irrate as a consumer with kids). Imho, they should have put this in a different game altogether, a game with a more mature theme, then it would have been fine.

I'd read somewhere that they were going to include FMV of strippers and the clip on the site seems to confirm that. I wonder if the GC version will get shortchanged in any way due to its lower disc capacity.

I don't think this will compete with Tony Hawk 4 comming out right around the same time. IMO Tony Hawk had better control and gameplay than the previous Dave Mirra (the engine XXX uses). I would have rather they kept Dave and the other pros in the game and left out the strippers.

It's really disgusting what will sell here...
PSX magazine (which I got yesterday in the mail) has a full article on this game, with black bars over the topless bikers. It really looks like one of those April Fools articles EGM used to pull... if you finish parts of the game, you get an FMV of a stripper. Great.
There's also a picture of two dogs humping in the game. This is going to cause so much more controversy than GTA, in a bad way. I can't imagine the game is going to be any good, either...

The game looks like a lot of fun. Unlocking the strippers is just going ot be a bonus, a huge bonus. Not all games need to be kiddy or kid related. I like naked women, and I like video games. Let me have both please, and you can buy the dave mira game when it comes out.

Originally I thought it might be fun, but the graphics look like crap. I may rent it just cuz I don't think I'll ever get to Scores and after all I've heard about the place, I'd like to see for myself if it's true. As for the gameplay - the potty humor will probably elicit a laugh or two, but I thought Dave Mirra 2 was boring... maybe if it was a Tony Hawk game...

I don't see what the big deal is....the game will have it's proper age rating right?? Just don't buy it for your kids, and don't let your kids play it.
Besides, it can't be worse than the Man Show (The Man Show is a good show by the way)

Exactly. I don't care if you do publish a game with explicit material. Slap a label on it and sell it.
Just have a point.
GTA3 obviously crossed into new territory. It's crude, brutal, violent, etc.
But it all came together in an environment that was at least somewhat related to the plot of the game.
Topless girls doing BMX stunts? Yeah, whatever.

It's funny to listen to everyone who is just tearing apart this game. Sex in Video games sell. Look at all the people we hear asking for the E3 babe thread. How about people that talk about the hot looking animated babes in DOA series. When I went to E3, all the guys flocked to the booths that had Playboy models or any other hot chick. This game should do well with that type of crowd.
I just hope they really make it clear what this game is on the cover so some parent doesn't buy this game for their kid thinking that the "XXX" mean just really extreme sports.
