GameCube & Gameboy Advance

As a PS2 owner, I've never worried about this too much but...
A buddy of mine just added a GameCube as a 2nd console (to his XBox). I've heard that you can use the Gameboy Advance as a controller with an optional cable. Has anyone done this? What games support it? I haven't had much luck gleaning info from Nintendo or elsewhere. I thought I had heard at one time you would be able to select plays for a football game using the display on the GBA. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure any games really use it as a controller. Some games like Sonic and Animal Crossing let you upload stuff to be used on it. Sonic has the Chao game and Animal Crossing lets you play the NES games you find among other things.

Madden 2003 is also compatible, but I don't have it so I'm not sure what the use is. Probably to call plays on?

I think you will see it used mostly to move stuff between the Gameboy Advance and Gamecube version of games and to play mini games for a Game Cube game on your GBA. Not to mention the new e-reader thats lets you add things to Game Cube games by swiping an e-card in your GBA.

I read somewhere (I think the IGN review) that the gameboy/gamecube connection for Madden only uses the gameboy as a scoreboard. The reviewers found it pretty lame.
