Get your X02 news! Rare video, Pack-in games for XL announced, and more!

Microsoft's X02 conference is currently going on in Seville, Spain. On to the announcements:

$375 million gets Stamper Bros. and company.

Rare is now Microsoft owned with the Stamper Brothers staying in place. Perfect Dark 2 and Kameo Elements of Power are already in the works. Kameo will debut in Spring 2003. Banjo and Conker are also on their way. Rare also owns Battletoads, Blast Corps., and Killer Instinct.

Take a gander at this funny video with cameos from Ms. Dark, Banjo, Kameo, and the beloved Conker:

Rev up those engines. Moto GP gets some XBox Live love.

Some of the XBox Live Starter Kit Pack-In games have been announced. They are demo versions of Moto GP and Whacked!. Now here is the cool part. If you already own Moto GP, the demo will unlock online play for the full version so you can race every track.

Microsoft will be changing the demos packed into the starter kit as time goes on. Also, they may add more games with the starter kit. Nothing has been finalized.

John Mullins wears green.

The FPS XBox dominance continues. Activision announced Soldier of Fortune 2 for the XBox with full XBox Live support. Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix will support multiplayer modes such as deathmatch, team deathmatch, elimination and infiltration.

Sudeki is not raw fish.

Microsoft announced Sudeki, a RPG using Hong Kong-style cinematic combat. It will debut in Winter 2003. Check out some of the screen shots here:

I will continue to update the thread if more announcements come in. The conference lasts through tomorrow night.

This game did look really good. Hopefully Rare will be able to shake their lacking originality label. I thnk this title may help with that.

SOF2 is one of the better multiplayer FPS released over the last few yrs and a shot on the arm for the xbox live service I'd say. Also the HD should be put to good use, ravensoft have already released 2 new sets of maps and weapons for the PC version.
