I don't think anyone deserves to be banned, but it looks like SA to me. I am not a moderator, but it didn't seem like an appropriate thing to post with all the f words (gay derrogatory type) and just the profane nature of it. Maybe the word [mature] belongs in the title (or immature)... It seems like most people here are over 18, but it's possible there's minors lurking.

I know it is... I thought SA and all related sites (including Jeff K) were banned from this forum. Static said it isn't SA. I dunno.

I'd never seen the site before. I thought it was funny. Why is that site banned from the forum?

Yeah - it's funny... but it's also potentially offensive to many many many people. There's tons of gay bashing and just non-PC things going on over there at SA. The whole thing is just a big offensive mess and I think that's why Geoff decided he didn't want anyone to link to it. That's how I remember it - I could be wrong.

You misunderstood my post, but that's my fault.

My first line was a well-known saying around SA.

My second line was me "realizing" that I wasn't posting on SA, but I was posting on DVD Talk.

My third and fourth lines were me "changing to DVDTalk posting mode."

It was a poor attempt at humor, fueled by the fact that it's really late. The site linked to in the first post IS SA. Doing some searching, I found this thread from a few months back:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...omething+awful

in which Geoff posts multiple times in a thread about the Something Awful Forums' pay model. At no point in time does he mention that the site shouldn't be mentioned on DVD Talk. Is it possible that he did this in another thread? Yes, but I can't find it. If you find it, let me know.

One last thing... if you see something that you don't think should be on the forums, please don't try to self-mod. Report the post to a moderator, and leave it alone. Posting I-B-T-L-type stuff, including things along the line of "Hmm, I think the mods are going to lock this one," tends to pull threads off-topic, especially in threads that mods decide not to lock. Thanks.

There is not tons of gay bashing on SA. I'm fairly certain it is a linkable site, but of course don't post images from it.

Dude - every other word in that link above is "f@got"... it doesn't really offend me and I'm not trying to be PC police and if I was gay that wouldn't offend me either, but I'm sure somewhere there's some gay guy who is really upset.

That's JeffK, not SA as a whole. And the whole JeffK persona is a joke anyway, I don't see how it's gay bashing when the whole point is JeffK is an invalid. Anybody offended by him has never played on online game.

That site is so freaking offensive. I am so offended that anyone could spell that poorly. Please take yourself back to school and finish the second grade. It hurt my head trying to read that.

Um, that's kind of the point. It's a joke. You might notice the word "humor" in the subject of this thread.

That was so horrid. The humor failed on so many levels. I am dumber now after reading just a few sentences.

I agree completely. That was the most moronic thing I've read all year.

I enjoyed it to the full hilt!! Funny as heck

Who cares if the fairy pixies get offended. Heck I get offended everytime one of them things starts a "gay films" thread in the DVD forum.

As far as offensive goes, if it makes some like those (kneel & bobs) that start threads about "gay films" commit suicide then I'm all for it.

Wowzy, you are so stupid that I can see you liking that post. I can't believe you just posted saying that you hope someone kills themself just because they are gay. That is the most hatefull thing I have heard in a long time. You might as well be a racist too. One day you will grow up and realize that there are people out there who are not like you, but also not less than you.

Mods, is this what you wanted to have happen when you left this topic open? Let's just start a hatefest while we are at it. Oh, and let's see some more of those "evil grin" bump posts.

Obviously you don't get the sarcasm.

What I'm saying is that if someone is weak enough to be offended by a word (especially one that is typed) and it causes them to get into an uproar, then so be it let them whine. If they do whine then I think it's funny as heck!!!

It's my business if I don't like reading threads about it, so mind your own business.

*evil grin*

BUMP!!

Sarcasm can be a difficult thing to get across online, especially without any emoticons accompanying a post. Temporary lockage.
